* Praying (5740 ) us with much intreaty that we would receive (5664 ) the gift , and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints . * And this they did , not as we hoped (5656 ), but first gave (5656 ) their own selves to the Lord , and unto us by the will of God . * Insomuch that we desired (5658 ) Titus , that as he had begun (5662 ), so he would also finish (5661 ) in you the same grace also . * Therefore , as ye abound (5719 ) in every thing , in faith , and utterance , and knowledge , and in all diligence , and in your love to us , see that ye abound (5725 ) in this grace also . * I speak (5719 ) not by commandment , but by occasion of the forwardness of others , and to prove (5723 ) the sincerity of your love . * For ye know (5719 ) the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ , that , though he was (5752 ) rich , yet for your sakes he became poor (5656 ), that ye through his poverty might be rich (5661 ). * And herein I give (5719 ) my advice : for this is expedient (5719 ) for you , who have begun before (5662 ), not only to do (5658 ), but also to be forward (5721 ) a year ago . * Now therefore perform (5657 ) the doing (5658 ) of it ; that as there was a readiness to will (5721 ), so there may be a performance (5658 ) also out of that which ye have (5721 ). * For if there be first (5736 ) a willing mind , it is accepted according to that a man hath (5725 ), and not according to that he hath (5719 ) not . * For I mean not that other men be eased , and ye burdened : * But by an equality , that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want , that their abundance also may be (5638 ) a supply for your want : that there may be (5638 ) equality : * As it is written (5769 ), He that had gathered much had nothing over (5656 ); and he that had gathered little had no lack (5656 ).
