rwbs@2Kings:9:5 @ And when he came, behold, the captains of the host sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, To which of us all? And he said, To thee, O captain.

rwbs@2Kings:9:6 @ And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, over Israel.

rwbs@2Kings:9:7 @ And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

rwbs@2Kings:9:8 @ For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab the males, both bound and free in Israel:

rwbs@2Kings:9:9 @ And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

rwbs@2Kings:9:10 @ And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and none to bury. And he opened the door, and fled.

rwbs@2Kings:9:11 @ Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and said to him, all well? Why came this mad to thee? And he said to them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

rwbs@2Kings:9:12 @ And they said, false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus he spoke to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

rwbs@2Kings:9:13 @ Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king. (note:)is king: Hebrews. reigneth(:note)

rwbs@2Kings:9:14 @ So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

rwbs@2Kings:9:15 @ But king Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it is your minds, let none go forth escape from the city to go to tell in Jezreel. (note:)Joram: Hebrews. rwbs@2Kings:9:17 @ And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, peace?

rwbs@2Kings:9:18 @ So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he doth not return.

rwbs@2Kings:9:19 @ Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

rwbs@2Kings:9:20 @ And the watchman told, saying, He came even to them, and doth not return: and the driving like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously. (note:)driving: or, marching(:note)furiously: Hebrews. in madness

rwbs@2Kings:9:21 @ And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite. (note:)Make ready: Hebrews. rwbs@2Kings:9:22 @ And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the harlotries of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts many?

rwbs@2Kings:9:25 @ Then said to Bidkar his captain, Take up, cast him into the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

rwbs@2Kings:9:26 @ Surely I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will repay thee in this plot, saith the LORD. Now therefore take cast him into the plot, according to the word of the LORD. (note:)blood: Hebrews. bloods(:note)plat: or, portion

rwbs@2Kings:9:27 @ But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. at the ascent of Gur, which by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

rwbs@2Kings:9:37 @ And the dead body of Jezebel shall be as refuse upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; that they shall not say, This Jezebel.

rwbs@2Kings:10:1 @ And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s, saying, (note:)them…: Hebrews. nourishers(:note)

rwbs@2Kings:10:2 @ Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons with you, and with you chariots and horses, a fortified city also, and armour;

rwbs@2Kings:10:3 @ Choose the best and most fit of your master’s sons, and set on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.

rwbs@2Kings:10:4 @ But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

rwbs@2Kings:10:5 @ And he that over the house, and he that over the city, the elders also, and those who brought up, sent to Jehu, saying, We thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou good in thy eyes.

rwbs@2Kings:10:6 @ Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye mine, and ye will hearken to my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, seventy persons, with the great men of the city, who brought them up. (note:)mine: Hebrews. for me(:note)

rwbs@2Kings:10:7 @ And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent to him to Jezreel.

rwbs@2Kings:10:8 @ And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.

rwbs@2Kings:10:9 @ And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

rwbs@2Kings:10:15 @ And when he had departed from there, he came upon Jehonadab the son of Rechab to meet him: and he greeted him, and said to him, Is thy heart right, as my heart with thy heart? rwbs@2Kings:10:18 @ And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them, Ahab served Baal a little; Jehu shall serve him much.

rwbs@2Kings:10:19 @ Now therefore call to me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be missing: for I have a great sacrifice to Baal; whoever shall be missing, he shall not live. But Jehu did deceitfully, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

rwbs@2Kings:10:20 @ And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed. (note:)Proclaim: Hebrews. Sanctify(:note)

rwbs@2Kings:10:21 @ And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another. (note:)full…: or, so full that they stood mouth to mouth(:note)

rwbs@2Kings:10:22 @ And he said to him that over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.

rwbs@2Kings:10:23 @ And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said to the worshippers of Baal, Search, and see that there are here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.

rwbs@2Kings:10:24 @ And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed eighty men without, and said, any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape,, his life for the life of him.

rwbs@2Kings:10:25 @ And it came to pass, as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. (note:)the edge: Hebrews. the mouth(:note)

rwbs@2Kings:10:29 @ Yet the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them,, the golden calves that in Bethel, and that in Daniel.

rwbs@2Kings:10:30 @ And the LORD said to Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing right in my eyes, hast done to the house of Ahab according to all that in my heart, thy children of the fourth shall sit on the throne of Israel.
