* Paul , and Silvanus , and Timotheus , unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ : * Grace unto you , and peace , from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ . * We are bound (5719 ) to thank (5721 ) God always for you , brethren , as it is (5748 ) meet , because that your faith groweth exceedingly (5719 ), and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth (5719 ); * So that we ourselves glory (5738 ) in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure (5736 ): * Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God , that ye may be counted worthy (5683 ) of the kingdom of God , for which ye also suffer (5719 ): * Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense (5629 ) tribulation to them that trouble (5723 ) you ; * And to you who are troubled (5746 ) rest with us , when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels , * In flaming fire taking (5723 ) vengeance on them that know (5761 ) not God , and that obey (5723 ) not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ : * Who shall be punished (5692 ) with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord , and from the glory of his power ; * When he shall come (5632 ) to be glorified (5683 ) in his saints , and to be admired (5683 ) in all them that believe (5723 ) (because our testimony among you was believed (5681 )) in that day . * Wherefore also we pray (5736 ) always for you , that our God would count you worthy (5661 ) of this calling , and fulfil (5661 ) all the good pleasure of his goodness , and the work of faith with power : * That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified (5686 ) in you , and ye in him , according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ . * Now we beseech (5719 ) you , brethren , by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ , and by our gathering together unto him , * That ye be not soon shaken (5683 ) in mind , or be troubled (5745 ), neither by spirit , nor by word , nor by letter as from us , as that the day of Christ is at hand (5758 ). * Let no man deceive (5661 ) you by any means : for that day shall not come , except there come (5632 ) a falling away first , and that man of sin be revealed (5686 ), the son of perdition ; * Who opposeth (5740 ) and exalteth (5746 ) himself above all that is called (5746 ) God , or that is worshipped ; so that he as God sitteth (5658 ) in the temple of God , shewing (5723 ) himself that he is (5748 ) God . * Remember ye (5719 ) not , that , when I was (5752 ) yet with you , I told (5707 ) you these things ? * And now ye know (5758 ) what withholdeth (5723 ) that he might be revealed (5683 ) in his time . * For the mystery of iniquity doth already work (5731 ): only he who now letteth (5723 ) will let , until he be taken (5638 ) out of the way . * And then shall that Wicked be revealed (5701 ), whom the Lord shall consume (5692 ) with the spirit of his mouth , and shall destroy (5692 ) with the brightness of his coming : * Even him , whose coming is (5748 ) after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders , * And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish (5730 ); because they received (5662 ) not the love of the truth , that they might be saved (5683 ). * And for this cause God shall send (5692 ) them strong delusion , that they should believe (5658 ) a lie : * That they all might be damned (5686 ) who believed (5660 ) not the truth , but had pleasure (5660 ) in unrighteousness . * But we are bound (5719 ) to give thanks (5721 ) alway to God for you , brethren beloved (5772 ) of the Lord , because God hath from the beginning chosen (5639 ) you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth : * Whereunto he called (5656 ) you by our gospel , to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ . * Therefore , brethren , stand fast (5720 ), and hold (5720 ) the traditions which ye have been taught (5681 ), whether by word , or our epistle . * Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself , and God , even our Father , which hath loved (5660 ) us , and hath given (5631 ) us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace , * Comfort (5659 ) your hearts , and stablish (5659 ) you in every good word and work . * Finally , brethren , pray (5737 ) for us , that the word of the Lord may have free course (5725 ), and be glorified (5747 ), even as it is with you : * And that we may be delivered (5686 ) from unreasonable and wicked men : for all men have not faith . * But the Lord is (5748 ) faithful , who shall stablish (5692 ) you , and keep (5692 ) you from evil . * And we have confidence (5754 ) in the Lord touching you , that ye both do (5719 ) and will do (5692 ) the things which we command (5719 ) you . * And the Lord direct (5659 ) your hearts into the love of God , and into the patient waiting for Christ . * Now we command (5719 ) you , brethren , in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ , that ye withdraw (5733 ) yourselves from every brother that walketh (5723 ) disorderly , and not after the tradition which he received (5627 ) of us . * For yourselves know (5758 ) how ye ought (5748 ) to follow (5738 ) us : for we behaved not ourselves disorderly (5656 ) among you ; * Neither did we eat (5627 ) any mans bread for nought ; but wrought (5740 ) with labour and travail night and day , that we might not be chargeable (5658 ) to any of you : * Not because we have (5719 ) not power , but to make (5632 ) ourselves an ensample unto you to follow (5738 ) us . * For even when we were (5713 ) with you , this we commanded (5707 ) you , that if any would (5719 ) not work (5738 ), neither should he eat (5720 ). * For we hear (5719 ) that there are some which walk (5723 ) among you disorderly , working (5740 ) not at all , but are busybodies (5740 ). * Now them that are such we command (5719 ) and exhort (5719 ) by our Lord Jesus Christ , that with quietness they work (5740 ), and eat (5725 ) their own bread . * But ye , brethren , be not weary (5661 ) in well doing (5723 ). * And if any man obey (5719 ) not our word by this epistle , note (5732 ) that man , and have no company with (5732 ) him , that he may be ashamed (5652 ). * Yet count (5737 ) him not as an enemy , but admonish (5720 ) him as a brother . * Now the Lord of peace himself give (5630 ) you peace always by all means . The Lord be with you all . * The salutation of Paul with mine own hand , which is (5748 ) the token in every epistle : so I write (5719 ). * The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all .
