* And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent (5656 ) unto them , saying (5723 ), Ye men and brethren , if ye have (5748 ) any word of exhortation for the people , say on (5720 ). * Then Paul stood up (5631 ), and beckoning (5660 ) with his hand said (5627 ), Men of Israel , and ye that fear (5740 ) God , give audience (5657 ). * The God of this people of Israel chose (5668 ) our fathers , and exalted (5656 ) the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt , and with an high arm brought he (5627 ) them out of it .
