* Therefore disputed he (5711 ) in the synagogue with the Jews , and with the devout persons (5740 ), and in the market daily with them that met with him (5723 ). * Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans , and of the Stoicks , encountered (5707 ) him . And some said (5707 ), What will (5722 ) this babbler say (5721 )? other some , He seemeth (5719 ) to be (5750 ) a setter forth of strange gods : because he preached (5710 ) unto them Jesus , and the resurrection . * And they took (5637 ) him , and brought him (5627 ) unto Areopagus , saying (5723 ), May (5736 ) we know (5629 ) what this new doctrine , whereof thou speakest (5746 ), is ? * For thou bringest (5719 ) certain strange things (5723 ) to our ears : we would (5736 ) know (5629 ) therefore what these things mean (5722 ) (5750 ). * (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there (5723 ) spent their time (5707 ) in nothing else , but either to tell (5721 ), or to hear (5721 ) some new thing .)
