* And some of them believed (5681 ), and consorted (5681 ) with Paul and Silas ; and of the devout (5740 ) Greeks a great multitude , and of the chief women not a few . * But the Jews which believed not (5723 ), moved with envy (5660 ), took unto them (5642 ) certain lewd fellows of the baser sort , and gathered a company (5660 ), and set all the city on an uproar (5707 ), and assaulted (5631 ) the house of Jason , and sought (5707 ) to bring (5629 ) them out to the people . * And when they found (5631 ) them not , they drew (5707 ) Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city , crying (5723 ), These that have turned the world upside down (5660 ) are come (5748 ) hither also ; * Whom Jason hath received (5766 ): and these all do (5719 ) contrary to the decrees of Caesar , saying (5723 ) that there is (5750 ) another king , one Jesus . * And they troubled (5656 ) the people and the rulers of the city , when they heard (5723 ) these things . * And when they had taken (5631 ) security of Jason , and of the other , they let them go (5656 ). * And the brethren immediately sent away (5656 ) Paul and Silas by night unto Berea : who coming (5637 ) thither went (5713 ) into the synagogue of the Jews .
