* And a certain Jew named Apollos , born at Alexandria , an eloquent man , and mighty (5752 ) in the scriptures , came (5656 ) to Ephesus . * This man was (5713 ) instructed in (5772 ) the way of the Lord ; and being fervent (5723 ) in the spirit , he spake (5707 ) and taught (5707 ) diligently the things of the Lord , knowing (5740 ) only the baptism of John . * And he began (5662 ) to speak boldly (5738 ) in the synagogue : whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard (5660 ), they took (5639 ) him unto them , and expounded (5639 ) unto him the way of God more perfectly .
