* And Philip ran (5631 ) thither to him , and heard (5656 ) him read (5723 ) the prophet Esaias , and said (5627 ), Understandest thou (5719 ) what thou readest (5719 )? * And he said (5627 ), How can I (5739 ), except some man should guide (5661 ) me ? And he desired (5656 ) Philip that he would come up (5631 ) and sit (5658 ) with him . * The place of the scripture which he read (5707 ) was (5713 ) this , He was led (5681 ) as a sheep to the slaughter ; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer (5723 ), so opened he (5719 ) not his mouth : * In his humiliation his judgment was taken away (5681 ): and who shall declare (5695 ) his generation ? for his life is taken (5743 ) from the earth . * And the eunuch answered (5679 ) Philip , and said (5627 ), I pray (5736 ) thee , of whom speaketh (5719 ) the prophet this ? of himself , or of some other man ? * Then Philip opened (5660 ) his mouth , and began (5671 ) at the same scripture , and preached (5668 ) unto him Jesus .
