* Judges and officers shalt thou appoint unto thyself in all thy gates , which the Lord thy God giveth thee , throughout thy tribes : and they shall judge the people with a just judgment . * Thou shalt not wrest judgment ; thou shalt not respect persons , and thou shalt not take a bribe ; for the bribe blindeth the eyes of the wise , and perverteth the words of the righteous . * Justice , only justice shalt thou pursue ; in order that thou mayest live , and retain possession of the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee .
