Deuteronomy:7:1-9:6

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:1 @ When the LORD your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:2 @ And when the LORD your God shall deliver them before you; you shall strike them, and utterly destroy them; you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them:

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:3 @ Neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give unto his son, nor his daughter shall you take unto your son.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:4 @ For they will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy you suddenly.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:5 @ But thus shall all of you deal with them; all of you shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:6 @ For you are an holy people unto the LORD your God: the LORD your God has chosen you to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:7 @ The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because all of you were more in number than any people; for all of you were the few of all people:

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:8 @ But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:9 @ Know therefore that the LORD your God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:10 @ And repays them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hates him, he will repay him to his face.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:11 @ You shall therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command you this day, to do them.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:12 @ Wherefore it shall come to pass, if all of you hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD your God shall keep unto you the covenant and the mercy which he swore unto your fathers:

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:13 @ And he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you: he will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your land, your corn, and your wine, and yours oil, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep, in the land which he swore unto your fathers to give you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:14 @ You shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:15 @ And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, upon you; but will lay them upon all them that hate you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:16 @ And you shall consume all the people which the LORD your God shall deliver you; yours eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:17 @ If you shall say in yours heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:18 @ You shall not be afraid of them: but shall well remember what the LORD your God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:19 @ The great temptations which yours eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD your God brought you out: so shall the LORD your God do unto all the people of whom you are afraid.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:20 @ Moreover the LORD your God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from you, be destroyed.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:21 @ You shall not be affrighted at them: for the LORD your God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:22 @ And the LORD your God will put out those nations before you by little and little: you may not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:23 @ But the LORD your God shall deliver them unto you, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:24 @ And he shall deliver their kings into yours hand, and you shall destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:25 @ The graven images of their gods shall all of you burn with fire: you shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto you, lest you be snared therin: for it is an abomination to the LORD your God.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:7:26 @ Neither shall you bring an abomination into yours house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: but you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly detest it; for it is a cursed thing.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:1 @ All the commandments which I command you this day shall all of you observe to do, that all of you may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:2 @ And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in yours heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:3 @ And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:4 @ Your raiment waxed not old upon you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:5 @ You shall also consider in yours heart, that, as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:6 @ Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:7 @ For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:8 @ A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:9 @ A land wherein you shall eat bread without scarceness, you shall not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig brass.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:10 @ When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which he has given you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:11 @ Beware that you forget not the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command you this day:

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:12 @ Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:13 @ And when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:14 @ Then yours heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:15 @ Who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:16 @ Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at your latter end;

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:17 @ And you say in yours heart, My power and the might of mine hand has got me this wealth.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:18 @ But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is he that gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:19 @ And it shall be, if you do at all forget the LORD your God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that all of you shall surely perish.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:8:20 @ As the nations which the LORD destroys before your face, so shall all of you perish; because all of you would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:9:1 @ Hear, O Israel: You are to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

ukjv@Deuteronomy:9:2 @ A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom you know, and of whom you have heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!

ukjv@Deuteronomy:9:3 @ Understand therefore this day, that the LORD your God is he which goes over before you; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before your face: so shall you drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said unto you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:9:4 @ Speak not you in yours heart, after that the LORD your God has cast them out from before you, saying, For my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD does drive them out from before you.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:9:5 @ Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of yours heart, do you go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may perform the word which the LORD swore unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

ukjv@Deuteronomy:9:6 @ Understand therefore, that the LORD your God gives you not this good land to possess it for your righteousness; for you are a stubborn people.
