* And this I say (5719 ), that the covenant , that was confirmed before (5772 ) of God in Christ , the law , which was (5756 ) four hundred and thirty years after , cannot disannul (5719 ), that it should make the promise of none effect (5658 ). * For if the inheritance be of the law , it is no more of promise : but God gave (5766 ) it to Abraham by promise . * Wherefore then serveth the law ? It was added (5681 ) because of transgressions , till the seed should come (5632 ) to whom the promise was made (5766 ); and it was ordained (5651 ) by angels in the hand of a mediator .
