* Is the law then against the promises of God ? God forbid (5636 ): for if there had been a law given (5681 ) which could (5740 ) have given life (5658 ), verily righteousness should have been (5713 ) by the law . * But the scripture hath concluded (5656 ) all under sin , that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given (5686 ) to them that believe (5723 ).
