Genesis:1:3-2

lesserot@Genesis:1:3 @ And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

lesserot@Genesis:1:4 @ And God saw the light that it was good; and God divided between the light and the darkness.

lesserot@Genesis:1:5 @ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And it was evening and it was morning, the first day.

lesserot@Genesis:1:6 @ And God said, Let there be an expansion in the midst of the waters, and let it divide between waters and waters.

lesserot@Genesis:1:7 @ And God made the expansion, and divided between the waters which were under the expansion and the waters which were above the expansion: and it was so.

lesserot@Genesis:1:8 @ And God called the expansion Heaven. And it was evening and it was morning, the second day.

lesserot@Genesis:1:9 @ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land be visible: and it was so.

lesserot@Genesis:1:10 @ And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters he called Seas: and God saw that it was good.

lesserot@Genesis:1:11 @ And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, herbs yielding seed, fruit–trees yielding fruit after their kind, in which its seed is upon the earth: and it was so.

lesserot@Genesis:1:12 @ And the earth brought forth grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees yielding fruit, in which its seed is after their kind: and God saw that it was good.

lesserot@Genesis:1:13 @ And it was evening and it was morning, the third day.

lesserot@Genesis:1:14 @ And God said, Let there be lights in the expansion of the heaven to divide between the day and the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years;

lesserot@Genesis:1:15 @ And let them be for lights in the expansion of the heaven, to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

lesserot@Genesis:1:16 @ And God made the two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars.

lesserot@Genesis:1:17 @ And God set them in the expansion of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

lesserot@Genesis:1:18 @ And to rule by day and by night, and to divide between the light and the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

lesserot@Genesis:1:19 @ And it was evening and it was morning, the fourth day.

lesserot@Genesis:1:20 @ And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly moving creatures that have life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open expansion of the heaven.

lesserot@Genesis:1:21 @ And God created the great sea–monsters, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after its kind: and God saw that it was good.

lesserot@Genesis:1:22 @ And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the fowl multiply on the earth.

lesserot@Genesis:1:23 @ And it was evening and it was morning, the fifth day.

lesserot@Genesis:1:24 @ And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind, cattle, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth after their kind: and it was so.

lesserot@Genesis:1:25 @ And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after its kind: and God saw that it was good.

lesserot@Genesis:1:26 @ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and they shall have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heaven, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

lesserot@Genesis:1:27 @ And God created man in his image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

lesserot@Genesis:1:28 @ And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heaven, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

lesserot@Genesis:1:29 @ And God said, Behold I have given unto you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree on which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

lesserot@Genesis:1:30 @ And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the heaven, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, every green herb for food: and it was so.

lesserot@Genesis:1:31 @ And God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And it was evening and it was morning, the sixth day.

lesserot@Genesis:10:1 @ Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and unto them were sons born after the flood.

lesserot@Genesis:10:2 @ The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tirass.

lesserot@Genesis:10:3 @ And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

lesserot@Genesis:10:4 @ And Javan’s sons: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

lesserot@Genesis:10:5 @ From these were separated the isles of the nations in their lands, every one after his tongue: after their families, in their nations.

lesserot@Genesis:10:6 @ And the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizrayim, Put and Canaan.

lesserot@Genesis:10:7 @ And the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, Sabtah and Raamah, and Sabtecha; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

lesserot@Genesis:10:8 @ And Cush begat Nimrod; he began to be a mighty man on the earth.

lesserot@Genesis:10:9 @ He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.

lesserot@Genesis:10:10 @ And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

lesserot@Genesis:10:11 @ Out of that land went forth Asshur, and built Nineveh, and the city of Rechoboth, and Calach.

lesserot@Genesis:10:12 @ And Ressen between Nineveh and Calach: the same is the great city.

lesserot@Genesis:10:13 @ And Mizrayim begat the Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuchim.

lesserot@Genesis:10:14 @ And the Pethrussim, and Casluchin, and the Caphtorim.

lesserot@Genesis:10:15 @ And Canaan begat Sidon his first–born, and Heth,

lesserot@Genesis:10:16 @ And the Jebusite, and the Emorite, and the Girgashite,

lesserot@Genesis:10:17 @ And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

lesserot@Genesis:10:18 @ And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

lesserot@Genesis:10:19 @ And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gazzah; as thou goest unto Sodom and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboyim, even unto Lesha.

lesserot@Genesis:10:20 @ These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, in their nations.

lesserot@Genesis:10:21 @ But unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, were children born.

lesserot@Genesis:10:22 @ The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.

lesserot@Genesis:10:23 @ And the children of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

lesserot@Genesis:10:24 @ And Arpachshad begat Shelach; and Shelach begat Eber.

lesserot@Genesis:10:25 @ And unto Eber were born two sons; the name of one was Peleg, for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

lesserot@Genesis:10:26 @ And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerach,

lesserot@Genesis:10:27 @ And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

lesserot@Genesis:10:28 @ And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba.

lesserot@Genesis:10:29 @ And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.

lesserot@Genesis:10:30 @ And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar, the mount of the east.

lesserot@Genesis:10:31 @ These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

lesserot@Genesis:10:32 @ These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations; and from these were the nations separated on the earth after the flood.

lesserot@Genesis:11:1 @ And the whole earth was of one language, and of one kind of words.

lesserot@Genesis:11:2 @ And it came to pass, as they journeyed toward the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.

lesserot@Genesis:11:3 @ And they said to one another, Go to, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly. And thus the brick served them for stone, and slime served them for mortar.

lesserot@Genesis:11:4 @ And they said, Go to, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower, the top of which may reach unto heaven; and let us make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

lesserot@Genesis:11:5 @ And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man were building.

lesserot@Genesis:11:6 @ And the Lord said, Behold, it is one people, and they have all one language, and this is the first thing they undertake to do; and now shall they not be restrained in all which they have imagined to do?

lesserot@Genesis:11:7 @ Go to, let us go down, and confound there their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

lesserot@Genesis:11:8 @ So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth; and they left off to build the city.

lesserot@Genesis:11:9 @ Therefore is the name of it called Babel, because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth; and from there did the Lord scatter them abroad over the face of all the earth.

lesserot@Genesis:11:10 @ These are the generations of Shem: Shem, when a hundred years old, begat Arpachshad, two years after the flood.

lesserot@Genesis:11:11 @ And Shem lived after he had begotten Arpachshad five hundred years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:12 @ And Arpachshad lived five and thirty years, and begat Shelach.

lesserot@Genesis:11:13 @ And Arpachshad lived after he had begotten Shelach four hundred and three years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:14 @ And Shelach lived thirty years, and begat Eber.

lesserot@Genesis:11:15 @ And Shelach lived after he had begotten Eber four hundred and three years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:16 @ And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg.

lesserot@Genesis:11:17 @ And Eber lived after he had begotten Peleg four hundred and thirty years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:18 @ And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu.

lesserot@Genesis:11:19 @ And Peleg lived after he had begotten Reu two hundred and nine years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:20 @ And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug.

lesserot@Genesis:11:21 @ And Reu lived after he had begotten Serug two hundred and seven years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:22 @ And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nachor.

lesserot@Genesis:11:23 @ And Serug lived after he had begotten Nachor two hundred years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:24 @ And Nachor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terach.

lesserot@Genesis:11:25 @ And Nachor lived after he had begotten Terach a hundred and nineteen years; and begat sons and daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:11:26 @ And Terach lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nachor, and Haran.

lesserot@Genesis:11:27 @ Now these are the generations of Terach: Terach begat Abram, Nachor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

lesserot@Genesis:11:28 @ And Haran died before his father Terach in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

lesserot@Genesis:11:29 @ And Abram and Nachor took themselves wives; the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nachor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Yiscah.

lesserot@Genesis:11:30 @ But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

lesserot@Genesis:11:31 @ And Terach took Abram his son, and Lot, the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter–in–law, the wife of his son Abram; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Charan, and dwelt there.

lesserot@Genesis:11:32 @ And the days of Terach were two hundred and five years; and Terach died in Charan.

lesserot@Genesis:12:1 @ Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and out of thy birthplace, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee.

lesserot@Genesis:12:2 @ And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

lesserot@Genesis:12:3 @ And I will bless those that bless thee, and him that curseth thee, will I curse; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

lesserot@Genesis:12:4 @ So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him, and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy and five years old at his departure out of Charan.

lesserot@Genesis:12:5 @ And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had acquired, and the persons that they had obtained in Charan; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and they came into the land of Canaan.

lesserot@Genesis:12:6 @ And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Shechem, unto the plain of Moreh; and the Canaanite was then in the land.

lesserot@Genesis:12:7 @ And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land. And he built there an altar unto the Lord, who had appeared unto him.

lesserot@Genesis:12:8 @ And he removed from there unto the mountain on the east of Beth–el, and pitched his tent, having Beth–el on the west, and ‘Ai on the east; and he built there an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.

lesserot@Genesis:12:9 @ And Abram journeyed farther, still going on toward the south.

lesserot@Genesis:12:10 @ And there arose a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

lesserot@Genesis:12:11 @ And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a woman of handsome appearance:

lesserot@Genesis:12:12 @ And it may come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they will say, This is his wife; and they may kill me, but thee they will save alive.

lesserot@Genesis:12:13 @ Say then, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may go well with me for thy sake, and my soul live because of thee.

lesserot@Genesis:12:14 @ And it came to pass, when Abram was come into Egypt, that the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.

lesserot@Genesis:12:15 @ The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house.

lesserot@Genesis:12:16 @ And he did well to Abram for her sake; and he received sheep, and oxen, and he–asses, and men–servants, and maid–servants, and she–asses, and camels.

lesserot@Genesis:12:17 @ But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.

lesserot@Genesis:12:18 @ And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this thou hast done unto me? Why didst thou not tell me that she is thy wife?

lesserot@Genesis:12:19 @ Why saidst thou, She is my sister? and so I took her to me for a wife; now, therefore, behold, here is thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

lesserot@Genesis:12:20 @ And Pharaoh commanded some men concerning him, who accompanied him and his wife, and all that he had.

lesserot@Genesis:13:1 @ And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

lesserot@Genesis:13:2 @ And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

lesserot@Genesis:13:3 @ And he went on his journeys from the south even to Beth–el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth–el and ‘Ai;

lesserot@Genesis:13:4 @ Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first; and Abram called there on the name of the Lord.

lesserot@Genesis:13:5 @ And Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

lesserot@Genesis:13:6 @ And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together; for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

lesserot@Genesis:13:7 @ And there arose a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle, and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle; and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

lesserot@Genesis:13:8 @ And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we are near relatives.

lesserot@Genesis:13:9 @ Is not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right, then I will go to the left.

lesserot@Genesis:13:10 @ And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere; before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, till thou comest unto Zoar.

lesserot@Genesis:13:11 @ Then Lot chose himself all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east; and they separated themselves the one from the other.

lesserot@Genesis:13:12 @ Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan; and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tents, till close to Sodom.

lesserot@Genesis:13:13 @ But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.

lesserot@Genesis:13:14 @ And the Lord said unto Abram, after Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thy eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward;

lesserot@Genesis:13:15 @ For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.

lesserot@Genesis:13:16 @ And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth; so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

lesserot@Genesis:13:17 @ Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for unto thee will I give it.

lesserot@Genesis:13:18 @ Then Abram pitched his tent, and came and dwelt in the grove of Mamre, which is in Hebron; and he built there an altar unto the Lord.

lesserot@Genesis:14:1 @ And it came to pass, in the day of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Kedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim;

lesserot@Genesis:14:2 @ That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboyim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

lesserot@Genesis:14:3 @ All these joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is now the salt sea.

lesserot@Genesis:14:4 @ Twelve years had they served Kedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

lesserot@Genesis:14:5 @ And in the fourteenth year came Kedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and they smote the Rephaim in Ashteroth–karnayim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh–kiriathayim,

lesserot@Genesis:14:6 @ And the Horites in their mountain Seir, unto El–paran, which is by the wilderness.

lesserot@Genesis:14:7 @ And they returned and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Emorites, that dwelt in Hazezon–tamar.

lesserot@Genesis:14:8 @ And then went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboyim, and the king of Bela, and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;

lesserot@Genesis:14:9 @ With Kedorlaomer king of Elam, and with Tidal king of Goyim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.

lesserot@Genesis:14:10 @ And the vale of Siddim was full of slime–pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell therein; and they that remained fled to the mountain.

lesserot@Genesis:14:11 @ And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

lesserot@Genesis:14:12 @ And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

lesserot@Genesis:14:13 @ And there came one that had escaped, and told it to Abram the Hebrew; but he dwelt in the grove of Mamre the Emorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner, and these were confederates of Abram.

lesserot@Genesis:14:14 @ And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants; born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them into Daniel.

lesserot@Genesis:14:15 @ And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

lesserot@Genesis:14:16 @ And he brought back all the goods; and he also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and also the women, and the people.

lesserot@Genesis:14:17 @ And the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh, which is the kings’ dale.

lesserot@Genesis:14:18 @ And Malkizidek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine; and he was a priest of the most high God.

lesserot@Genesis:14:19 @ And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth.

lesserot@Genesis:14:20 @ And blessed he the most high God, who hath delivered thy enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

lesserot@Genesis:14:21 @ And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and the goods take to thyself.

lesserot@Genesis:14:22 @ And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

lesserot@Genesis:14:23 @ That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe–latchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine; lest thou shouldst say, I have made Abram rich:

lesserot@Genesis:14:24 @ Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre––these may take their portion.

lesserot@Genesis:15:1 @ After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not Abram; I am thy shield, thy reward shall be exceedingly great.

lesserot@Genesis:15:2 @ And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?

lesserot@Genesis:15:3 @ And Abram said, Behold to me thou hast given no seed; and lo, one born in my house will be my heir.

lesserot@Genesis:15:4 @ And behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This one shall not be thy heir; but he that shall come forth out of thy own bowels shall be thy heir.

lesserot@Genesis:15:5 @ And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward the heaven, and count the stars, if thou be able to count them; and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

lesserot@Genesis:15:6 @ And he believed in the Lord; and he accounted it to him for righteousness.

lesserot@Genesis:15:7 @ And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give unto thee this land, to inherit it.

lesserot@Genesis:15:8 @ And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

lesserot@Genesis:15:9 @ And he said unto him, Take me a heifer of three years old, and a she–goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtle–dove, and a young pigeon.

lesserot@Genesis:15:10 @ And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one opposite the other; but the birds he did not divide.

lesserot@Genesis:15:11 @ And the birds of prey came down upon the carcasses; but Abram drove them away.

lesserot@Genesis:15:12 @ And when the sun was about going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and lo, a horror, dark and great, fell upon him.

lesserot@Genesis:15:13 @ And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land which is not theirs, and they will make them serve, and they will afflict them four hundred years.

lesserot@Genesis:15:14 @ And also that nation whom they shall serve, will I judge; and afterward shall they go out with great substance.

lesserot@Genesis:15:15 @ But thou shalt come to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

lesserot@Genesis:15:16 @ Yet the fourth generation shall come hither again; for the iniquity of the Emorites will not be full until then.

lesserot@Genesis:15:17 @ And it came to pass, when the sun had gone down, and it was dark, that behold a smoking furnace, and a burning flame, which passed between those pieces.

lesserot@Genesis:15:18 @ On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates;

lesserot@Genesis:15:19 @ The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,

lesserot@Genesis:15:20 @ And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaim,

lesserot@Genesis:15:21 @ And the Emorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

lesserot@Genesis:16:1 @ Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, bore him no children; and she had an Egyptian handmaid, whose name was Hagar.

lesserot@Genesis:16:2 @ And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: go in, I pray thee, unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

lesserot@Genesis:16:3 @ And Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar, the Egyptian, her maid, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

lesserot@Genesis:16:4 @ And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became of little esteem in her eyes.

lesserot@Genesis:16:5 @ And Sarai said unto Abram, I suffer wrong through thee; I have placed my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became of little esteem in her eyes; may the Lord judge between me and thee.

lesserot@Genesis:16:6 @ But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

lesserot@Genesis:16:7 @ And an angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain on the way to Shur.

lesserot@Genesis:16:8 @ And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, From the face of my mistress Sarai I am fleeing.

lesserot@Genesis:16:9 @ And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

lesserot@Genesis:16:10 @ And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

lesserot@Genesis:16:11 @ And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and wilt bear a son, and thou shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction.

lesserot@Genesis:16:12 @ And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and in the presence of all his brethren shall he dwell.

lesserot@Genesis:16:13 @ And she called the name of the Lord that spoke unto her, Thou art an all–seeing God; for she said, Have I not also seen here a vision after he appeared to me?

lesserot@Genesis:16:14 @ Wherefore the well was called Beerlachai–roi: behold, it is between Kadesh and Bared.

lesserot@Genesis:16:15 @ And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

lesserot@Genesis:16:16 @ And Abram was eighty and six years old, when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.

lesserot@Genesis:17:1 @ And when Abram was ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be thou perfect.

lesserot@Genesis:17:2 @ And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and I will multiply thee exceedingly.

lesserot@Genesis:17:3 @ And Abram fell on his face, and God spoke with him, saying,

lesserot@Genesis:17:4 @ As for me, behold my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt become the father of a multitude of nations.

lesserot@Genesis:17:5 @ Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.

lesserot@Genesis:17:6 @ And I will make thee exceedingly fruitful, and I will cause thee to become nations; and kings shall come out of thee.

lesserot@Genesis:17:7 @ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and between thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant: to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

lesserot@Genesis:17:8 @ And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou sojournest, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

lesserot@Genesis:17:9 @ And God said unto Abraham, But thou, for thy part, shalt keep my covenant, thou and thy seed after thee, in their generations.

lesserot@Genesis:17:10 @ This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and between you, and between thy seed after thee: Every man–child among you shall be circumcised.

lesserot@Genesis:17:11 @ And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and this shall serve as the token of the covenant between me and you.

lesserot@Genesis:17:12 @ And at eight days old shall every man–child in your generations be circumcised among you, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, who is not of thy seed.

lesserot@Genesis:17:13 @ He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised; and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

lesserot@Genesis:17:14 @ And any uncircumcised male, who circumciseth not the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

lesserot@Genesis:17:15 @ And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

lesserot@Genesis:17:16 @ And I will bless her, and give thee also a son of her; yea I will bless her, and she shall become a mother of nations; kings of people shall spring from her.

lesserot@Genesis:17:17 @ Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed; and he said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear?

lesserot@Genesis:17:18 @ And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

lesserot@Genesis:17:19 @ And God said, Truly, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, for his seed after him.

lesserot@Genesis:17:20 @ And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make of him a great nation.

lesserot@Genesis:17:21 @ But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

lesserot@Genesis:17:22 @ And when he had left off talking with him, God went up from Abraham.

lesserot@Genesis:17:23 @ And Abraham now took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on the selfsame day, as God had spoken unto him.

lesserot@Genesis:17:24 @ And Abraham was ninety and nine years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

lesserot@Genesis:17:25 @ And Ishmael his son, was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

lesserot@Genesis:17:26 @ On the self–same day was Abraham circumcised, with Ishmael his son.

lesserot@Genesis:17:27 @ And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.

lesserot@Genesis:18:1 @ And the Lord appeared unto him in the grove of Mamre; while he was sitting at the door of the tent in the heat of the day.

lesserot@Genesis:18:2 @ And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo, three men stood near him; and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the door of the tent, and bowed himself to the ground;

lesserot@Genesis:18:3 @ And he said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy eyes, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant.

lesserot@Genesis:18:4 @ Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

lesserot@Genesis:18:5 @ And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your heart, after that ye may pass on; since ye have once passed by your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast spoken.

lesserot@Genesis:18:6 @ And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes.

lesserot@Genesis:18:7 @ And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man, and he hastened to dress it.

lesserot@Genesis:18:8 @ And he took cream and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

lesserot@Genesis:18:9 @ And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife! And he said, Behold, in the tent.

lesserot@Genesis:18:10 @ And he said, I will certainly return unto thee at this time next year: and lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it at the door of the tent, which was behind him.

lesserot@Genesis:18:11 @ Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in years; it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

lesserot@Genesis:18:12 @ Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord also being old!

lesserot@Genesis:18:13 @ And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, since I am old?

lesserot@Genesis:18:14 @ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, at this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.

lesserot@Genesis:18:15 @ Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid; but he said, Nay; indeed thou didst laugh.

lesserot@Genesis:18:16 @ And the men rose up from there and looked toward Sodom; and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.

lesserot@Genesis:18:17 @ And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about doing?

lesserot@Genesis:18:18 @ Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

lesserot@Genesis:18:19 @ For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, that they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice; in order that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken concerning him.

lesserot@Genesis:18:20 @ And the Lord said, Because the cry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous:

lesserot@Genesis:18:21 @ I will go down now, and see if they have done according to the cry against them, which is come unto me, destruction; and if not, I will know it.

lesserot@Genesis:18:22 @ And the men turned their faces from there, and went toward Sodom; but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.

lesserot@Genesis:18:23 @ And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou then destroy the righteous also with the wicked?

lesserot@Genesis:18:24 @ Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city; wilt thou then also destroy and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous that are therein?

lesserot@Genesis:18:25 @ Far be it from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, and that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be this from thee; shall the Judge of all the earth not exercise justice?

lesserot@Genesis:18:26 @ And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then will I spare all of the place for their sake.

lesserot@Genesis:18:27 @ And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, although I am but dust and ashes:

lesserot@Genesis:18:28 @ Peradventure there will lack five of the fifty righteous; wilt thou then destroy all the city for the these five? And he said, I will not destroy, if I find there forty and five.

lesserot@Genesis:18:29 @ And he spoke yet again unto him, and said, Peradventure there will be found there forty. And he said, I will not do it for the sake of the forty.

lesserot@Genesis:18:30 @ And he said, Oh, let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there will be found there thirty. And he said, I will not do it, if I find there thirty.

lesserot@Genesis:18:31 @ And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there will be found there twenty. And he said, I will not destroy for the sake of the twenty.

lesserot@Genesis:18:32 @ And he said, Oh, let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure there will be found there ten. And he said, I will not destroy, for the sake of the ten.

lesserot@Genesis:18:33 @ And the Lord went away, when he had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned unto his place.

lesserot@Genesis:19:1 @ And the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom; and when Lot saw them he rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face to the ground.

lesserot@Genesis:19:2 @ And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye can rise up early, and go on your way. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

lesserot@Genesis:19:3 @ And he pressed upon them greatly, and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they did eat.

lesserot@Genesis:19:4 @ But before they had lain down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

lesserot@Genesis:19:5 @ And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men who came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

lesserot@Genesis:19:6 @ And Lot went out unto them, at the entrance, and shut the door after him.

lesserot@Genesis:19:7 @ And he said, I pray you, my brethren, do not act wickedly.

lesserot@Genesis:19:8 @ Behold now, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes, only unto these men do nothing, since they have once come under the shadow of my roof.

lesserot@Genesis:19:9 @ And they said, Stand back. And they said, This one man came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge; now will we deal worse with thee than with them. And they pressed sorely upon the man Lot, and they came near to break the door.

lesserot@Genesis:19:10 @ But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot to them into the house, and the door they locked.

lesserot@Genesis:19:11 @ And the men that were at the entrance of the house they smote with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the entrance.

lesserot@Genesis:19:12 @ And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? a son–in–law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring out of this place.

lesserot@Genesis:19:13 @ For we will destroy this place, because the cry against them is waxed great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

lesserot@Genesis:19:14 @ And Lot went out and spoke unto his sons–in–law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, Arise, get yourselves out of this place, for the Lord will destroy this city; but he seemed as one that jesteth in the eyes of his sons–in–law.

lesserot@Genesis:19:15 @ And as the morning dawn arose, the angels urged Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters that are here, lest thou be consumed for the iniquity of the city.

lesserot@Genesis:19:16 @ And while he yet lingered, the men laid hold of his hand, and of the hand of his wife, and of the hand of his two daughters, because the Lord desired to spare him; and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

lesserot@Genesis:19:17 @ And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life, look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

lesserot@Genesis:19:18 @ And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my lord!

lesserot@Genesis:19:19 @ Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy eyes, and thou hast magnified thy kindness, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest the evil overtake me, and I die.

lesserot@Genesis:19:20 @ Behold now, this city is near to flee thereunto, and it is little; oh, let me, I pray thee, escape thither, that my life may be saved.

lesserot@Genesis:19:21 @ And he said unto him, See, I have favored thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, of which thou hast spoken.

lesserot@Genesis:19:22 @ Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou hast come thither. Therefore was the name of the city called Zoar.

lesserot@Genesis:19:23 @ The sun rose over the earth, when Lot entered into Zoar.

lesserot@Genesis:19:24 @ And the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire, from the Lord, out of heaven;

lesserot@Genesis:19:25 @ And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

lesserot@Genesis:19:26 @ But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

lesserot@Genesis:19:27 @ And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord:

lesserot@Genesis:19:28 @ And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and lo, smoke went up from the earth as the smoke of a furnace.

lesserot@Genesis:19:29 @ And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot away out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt.

lesserot@Genesis:19:30 @ And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, for he feared to dwell in Zoar; and he dwelt in a cave, he, and his two daughters.

lesserot@Genesis:19:31 @ And the first–born said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the country to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:

lesserot@Genesis:19:32 @ Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

lesserot@Genesis:19:33 @ And they made their father drink wine that night; and the first–born went in, and lay with her father, and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

lesserot@Genesis:19:34 @ And it came to pass on the morrow, that the first–born said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father; let us make him drink wine this night also, and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

lesserot@Genesis:19:35 @ And they made their father drink wine that night also; and the younger arose, and lay with him, and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

lesserot@Genesis:19:36 @ And both the daughters of Lot became with child by their father.

lesserot@Genesis:19:37 @ And the first–born bore a son, and called his name Moab; the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

lesserot@Genesis:19:38 @ And the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Ben–ammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
