Genesis:16:7-13




geneva@Genesis:16:7 @ And the (note:)Which was Christ, as appears in (Gen_16:13, Gen_18:17).(:note) angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

geneva@Genesis:16:8 @ And he saide, Hagar Sarais maide, whence commest thou? and whither wilt thou goe? And she said, I flie from my dame Sarai.

geneva@Genesis:16:9 @ And the angel of the LORD said unto her, (note:)God rejects no estate of people in their misery, but sends them comfort.(:note) Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

geneva@Genesis:16:10 @ Againe the Angel of the Lorde saide vnto her, I will so greatly increase thy seede, that it shal not be numbred for multitude.

geneva@Genesis:16:11 @ Also the Angel of the Lord said vnto her, See, thou art with childe, and shalt beare a sonne, and shalt call his name Ishmael: for the Lorde hath heard thy tribulation.

geneva@Genesis:16:12 @ And he will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against every man, and every man's hand against him; and (note:)That is, the Ishmaelites will be a separate people by themselves and not part of another people.(:note) he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

geneva@Genesis:16:13 @ And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, (note:)She rebukes her own dullness and acknowledges God's graces, who was present with her everywhere.(:note) Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
