* Now faith is (5748 ) the substance of things hoped for (5746 ), the evidence of things not seen (5746 ). * For by it the elders obtained a good report (5681 ). * Through faith we understand (5719 ) that the worlds were framed (5771 ) by the word of God , so that things which are seen (5746 ) were not made (5755 ) of things which do appear (5730 ). * By faith Abel offered (5656 ) unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain , by which he obtained witness (5681 ) that he was (5750 ) righteous , God testifying (5723 ) of his gifts : and by it he being dead (5631 ) yet speaketh (5731 ) (5625 ) (5719 ). * By faith Enoch was translated (5681 ) that he should not see (5629 ) death ; and was not found (5712 ), because God had translated (5656 ) him : for before his translation he had this testimony (5769 ), that he pleased (5760 ) God . * But without faith it is impossible to please (5658 ) him : for he that cometh (5740 ) to God must (5748 ) believe (5658 ) that he is (5748 ), and that he is (5736 ) a rewarder of them that diligently seek (5723 ) him . * By faith Noah , being warned of God (5685 ) of things not seen (5746 ) as yet , moved with fear (5685 ), prepared (5656 ) an ark to the saving of his house ; by the which he condemned (5656 ) the world , and became (5633 ) heir of the righteousness which is by faith .
