Hosea:1:2-2

ukjv@Hosea:1:2 @ The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto you a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land has committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

ukjv@Hosea:1:3 @ So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

ukjv@Hosea:1:4 @ And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

ukjv@Hosea:1:5 @ And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.

ukjv@Hosea:1:6 @ And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

ukjv@Hosea:1:7 @ But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

ukjv@Hosea:1:8 @ Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

ukjv@Hosea:1:9 @ Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for all of you are not my people, and I will not be your God.

ukjv@Hosea:1:10 @ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, All of you are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, All of you are the sons of the living God.

ukjv@Hosea:1:11 @ Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

ukjv@Hosea:10:1 @ Israel is an empty vine, he brings forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he has increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.

ukjv@Hosea:10:2 @ Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images.

ukjv@Hosea:10:3 @ For now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us?

ukjv@Hosea:10:4 @ They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springs up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

ukjv@Hosea:10:5 @ The inhabitants of Samaria shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.

ukjv@Hosea:10:6 @ It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

ukjv@Hosea:10:7 @ As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water.

ukjv@Hosea:10:8 @ The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.

ukjv@Hosea:10:9 @ O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.

ukjv@Hosea:10:10 @ It is in my desire that I should chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.

ukjv@Hosea:10:11 @ And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loves to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods.

ukjv@Hosea:10:12 @ Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he comes and rain righteousness upon you.

ukjv@Hosea:10:13 @ All of you have plowed wickedness, all of you have reaped iniquity; all of you have eaten the fruit of lies: because you did trust in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.

ukjv@Hosea:10:14 @ Therefore shall a tumult arise among your people, and all your fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Betharbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.

ukjv@Hosea:10:15 @ So shall Bethel do unto you because of your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off.

ukjv@Hosea:11:1 @ When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

ukjv@Hosea:11:2 @ As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

ukjv@Hosea:11:3 @ I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.

ukjv@Hosea:11:4 @ I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid food unto them.

ukjv@Hosea:11:5 @ He shall not return into the land of Egypt, and the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

ukjv@Hosea:11:6 @ And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.

ukjv@Hosea:11:7 @ And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.

ukjv@Hosea:11:8 @ How shall I give you up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver you, Israel? how shall I make you as Admah? how shall I set you as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

ukjv@Hosea:11:9 @ I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you: and I will not enter into the city.

ukjv@Hosea:11:10 @ They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.

ukjv@Hosea:11:11 @ They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, says the LORD.

ukjv@Hosea:11:12 @ Ephraim compasses me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet rules with God, and is faithful with the saints.

ukjv@Hosea:12:1 @ Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind: he daily increases lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

ukjv@Hosea:12:2 @ The LORD has also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.

ukjv@Hosea:12:3 @ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

ukjv@Hosea:12:4 @ Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us;

ukjv@Hosea:12:5 @ Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.

ukjv@Hosea:12:6 @ Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on your God continually.

ukjv@Hosea:12:7 @ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.

ukjv@Hosea:12:8 @ And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.

ukjv@Hosea:12:9 @ And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

ukjv@Hosea:12:10 @ I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

ukjv@Hosea:12:11 @ Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

ukjv@Hosea:12:12 @ And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

ukjv@Hosea:12:13 @ And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

ukjv@Hosea:12:14 @ Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.

ukjv@Hosea:13:1 @ When Ephraim spoke trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

ukjv@Hosea:13:2 @ And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

ukjv@Hosea:13:3 @ Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passes away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.

ukjv@Hosea:13:4 @ Yet I am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt, and you shall know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

ukjv@Hosea:13:5 @ I did know you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

ukjv@Hosea:13:6 @ According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

ukjv@Hosea:13:7 @ Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:

ukjv@Hosea:13:8 @ I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the lobe of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.

ukjv@Hosea:13:9 @ O Israel, you have destroyed yourself; but in me is yours help.

ukjv@Hosea:13:10 @ I will be your king: where is any other that may save you in all your cities? and your judges of whom you said, Give me a king and princes?

ukjv@Hosea:13:11 @ I gave you a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.

ukjv@Hosea:13:12 @ The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.

ukjv@Hosea:13:13 @ The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking out of children.

ukjv@Hosea:13:14 @ I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be your plagues; O grave, I will be your destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

ukjv@Hosea:13:15 @ Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.

ukjv@Hosea:13:16 @ Samaria shall become desolate; for she has rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

ukjv@Hosea:14:1 @ O israel, return unto the LORD your God; for you have fallen by yours iniquity.

ukjv@Hosea:14:2 @ Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

ukjv@Hosea:14:3 @ Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, All of you are our gods: for in you the fatherless finds mercy.

ukjv@Hosea:14:4 @ I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

ukjv@Hosea:14:5 @ I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

ukjv@Hosea:14:6 @ His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

ukjv@Hosea:14:7 @ They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

ukjv@Hosea:14:8 @ Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found.

ukjv@Hosea:14:9 @ Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
