rkjnt@James:4:2 @ You covet, and do not have, so you kill; and envy, and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

rkjnt@James:4:3 @ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it upon your pleasures.

rkjnt@James:4:4 @ You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

rkjnt@James:4:5 @ Do you think that the scripture speaks in vain when it says, The spirit he made to dwell in us tends toward envious desires?

rkjnt@James:4:6 @ But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

rkjnt@James:4:7 @ Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

rkjnt@James:4:8 @ Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

rkjnt@James:4:9 @ Be miserable, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.

rkjnt@James:4:10 @ Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

rkjnt@James:4:11 @ Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge of it.
