James:5:13-20

* Does anyone among you suffer misfortune ? Let him pray . Is anyone cheerful ? Let him sing praises . * Is anyone among you sick ? Let him call on the elders of the church , and let them pray over him , anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord . * And the prayer of faith will save the [one ]who is sick , and the Lord will raise him up . And if he has committed sins , it will be forgiven him . * Confess your transgressions to one another , and pray for one another , so that you may be healed . The effective prayer of the righteous is very powerful . * Elijah was a man of similar nature to us , and with a prayer , he prayed earnestly for it not to rain , and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months . * And again he prayed , and the heaven gave rain , and the earth produced its fruit . * Brothers , if anyone among you wanders away from the truth , and anyone turns him back , * let him know that he who turns a sinner back from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins .
