* And they asked (5656 ) him , What then ? Art (5748 ) thou Elias ? And he saith (5719 ), I am (5748 ) not . Art (5748 ) thou that prophet ? And he answered (5662 ), No . * Then said they (5627 ) unto him , Who art thou (5748 )? that we may give (5632 ) an answer to them that sent (5660 ) us . What sayest thou (5719 ) of thyself ? * He said (5713 ), I am the voice of one crying (5723 ) in the wilderness , Make straight (5657 ) the way of the Lord , as said (5627 ) the prophet Esaias . * And they which were sent (5772 ) were (5713 ) of the Pharisees . * And they asked (5656 ) him , and said (5627 ) unto him , Why baptizest thou (5719 ) then , if thou be (5748 ) not that Christ , nor Elias , neither that prophet ?
