* THERE was a certain man sick \'97 Lazarus of Bethany , of the village of Mary and Martha her sister . * It was that Mary who anointed the Master with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair whose brother Lazarus was sick . * So the sisters sent to Jesus , saying , "Master , he whom you love is sick ." * When Jesus heard it he said , * Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus . * So when he heard that he was sick , he stayed where he was two days . * Then , after that , he said to the disciples , * The disciples said to him , "Rabbi , just now the Jews were trying to stone you , and are you going there again ?" * Jesus answered , riversident @John:11:10 " /> * He said this , and then he said to them , * The disciples said to him , "Master , if he has fallen asleep , he will recover ." * But Jesus had spoken of his death . They thought that he was speaking of the repose of sleep . * Then Jesus said to them frankly , riversident @John:11:15 " /> * Thomas , who is called Didymus (note :)the Twin (:note ), said to his fellow disciples , "Let us go too to die with him ."
