* Now a certain man was (5713 ) sick (5723 ), named Lazarus , of Bethany , the town of Mary and her sister Martha . * (It was (5713 ) that Mary which anointed (5660 ) the Lord with ointment , and wiped (5660 ) his feet with her hair , whose brother Lazarus was sick (5707 ).) * Therefore his sisters sent (5656 ) unto him , saying (5723 ), Lord , behold , he whom thou lovest (5719 ) is sick (5719 ). * When Jesus heard (5660 ) that , he said (5627 ), This sickness is (5748 ) not unto death , but for the glory of God , that the Son of God might be glorified (5686 ) thereby . * Now Jesus loved (5707 ) Martha , and her sister , and Lazarus .
