John:13:1-17

lont@John:13:1 @ Jesus having perceived, before the feast of the passover, that his time to remove out of this world to his Father, was come; and having loved his own, who were in the world, he loved them to the last.

lont@John:13:2 @ Now while they were at the supper, (the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him,)

lont@John:13:3 @ Jesus, though he knew that the Father had subjected everything to him, and that he came from God, and was returning to God;

lont@John:13:4 @ arose from supper, and laying aside his mantle, girt himself about with a towel.

lont@John:13:5 @ Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of his disciples, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.

lont@John:13:6 @ When he came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, Master, would you wash my feet?

lont@John:13:7 @ Jesus answered,

lont@John:13:8 @ Peter replied, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered,

lont@John:13:9 @ Simon Peter said to him, Master, not my feet only; but also my hands and my head.

lont@John:13:10 @ Jesus replied,

lont@John:13:11 @ For he knew who would betray him; therefore he said,

lont@John:13:12 @ After he had washed their feet, he put on his mantle, and replacing himself at table, said to them,

lont@John:13:21 @ After uttering these words, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and declared, saying,

lont@John:13:22 @ Then the disciples looked one upon another, doubting of whom he spoke.

lont@John:13:23 @ Now one of his disciples, one whom Jesus loved, was lying close to his breast:

lont@John:13:24 @ Simon Peter, therefore, made a sign to him, to inquire whom he meant.

lont@John:13:25 @ He, then, reclining on Jesus' bosom, said to him, Master, who is it?

lont@John:13:26 @ Jesus answered, And having dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

lont@John:13:27 @ After receiving the morsel, Satan entered into him. And Jesus said to him,

lont@John:13:28 @ But none at the table knew, why he gave this order.

lont@John:13:29 @ Some imagined, because Judas had the purse, that Jesus had signified to him to buy necessaries for the festival; or, to give something to the poor.

lont@John:13:36 @ Simon Peter said to him, Master, whither are you going? Jesus answered,

lont@John:13:37 @ Peter replied, Master, why can not I follow you presently? I will lay down my life for your sake!

lont@John:13:38 @ Jesus answered him,
