John:20:1-9




noyes@John:20:1 @ But on the first day of the week Mary the Magdalene cometh early, while it was yet dark, to the tomb, and seeth that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

noyes@John:20:2 @ She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.

noyes@John:20:3 @ Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they set out for the tomb.

noyes@John:20:4 @ And they ran both together; and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb.

noyes@John:20:5 @ And stooping down, he seeth the linen cloths lying; but he did not go in.

noyes@John:20:6 @ Then cometh also Simon Peter following him, and he went into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying,

noyes@John:20:7 @ and the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded up in a place by itself.

noyes@John:20:8 @ Then therefore went in also the other disciple, who came first to the tomb; and he saw, and believed.

noyes@John:20:9 @ For not even yet did they know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
