mnt@John:20:1 @ On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, while it was yet dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and discovered that the stone had been removed from the tomb.

mnt@John:20:2 @ So she came running to Simon Peter and that other disciple whom Jesus loved, saying, "They have taken the Master out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him!"

mnt@John:20:3 @ So Peter and the other disciples set out at once to go to the tomb.

mnt@John:20:4 @ They both began to run; and the other disciple ran faster than Peter, and came first to the tomb.

mnt@John:20:5 @ Stooping down he glanced in and saw the linen wrapping lying on the ground; but he did not go in.

mnt@John:20:6 @ Then Peter also came following him, and he went inside the tomb; and he gazed at the linen wrapping as they lay,

mnt@John:20:7 @ and the napkin which had been about his head not lying with the wrappings, but rolled up in its own place.

mnt@John:20:8 @ Then the other disciple also who arrived first at the tomb went inside, and he perceived and believed.

mnt@John:20:9 @ For not yet had they understood the Scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

mnt@John:20:10 @ Then the disciples went back again to their home.

mnt@John:20:11 @ Meanwhile, outside, Mary stood sobbing near the tomb. Still sobbing she stooped and looked into the tomb,

mnt@John:20:12 @ and gazed at two angels in glistening white sitting, one at the head the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

mnt@John:20:13 @ They said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She answered, "Because they have taken away my Master, and I do not know where they have laid him."

mnt@John:20:14 @ When she had said this she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but did not know that it was Jesus.

mnt@John:20:15 @ Jesus said to her. "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking? She, supposing that he was the gardener, said to him, "Sir, if you have borne him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him away, myself."

mnt@John:20:16 @ "Mary," said Jesus. She turned to him. "Rabboni!" she cried in Hebrew. That is to say, "Teacher."

mnt@John:20:17 @ "Do not cling to me," said Jesus, "for I am not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."

mnt@John:20:18 @ Away went Mary Magdalene to the disciples with the tidings, "I have seen the Master!" and that he said these things to her.

mnt@John:20:19 @ On the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, although the doors of the room where the disciples gathered had been locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came, and there he stood among them, saying. "Peace to you!"

mnt@John:20:20 @ As he said this he showed them his hands and his side. Then were the disciple glad, when they saw the Lord.

mnt@John:20:21 @ Then Jesus said to them again. "Peace to you. As my Father has sent me forth, I also now am sending you."

mnt@John:20:22 @ When he had said this he breathed upon them and said.

mnt@John:20:23 @ "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you remit any ones sins, they are remitted; if you retain them they are retained."

mnt@John:20:24 @ But Thomas, one of the Twelve, who was called "The Twin." was not with them when Jesus came.

mnt@John:20:25 @ Accordingly the other disciples kept telling him, "We have seen the Lord." But he told them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and thrust my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

mnt@John:20:26 @ A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood there among and said. "Peace to you!"

mnt@John:20:27 @ Then to Thomas he said. "Place your finger here, and see my hands; and place your hand here, and thrust it into my side, and become not unbelieving, but believing."

mnt@John:20:28 @ Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

mnt@John:20:29 @ "Because you have seen me, Thomas, you have believed," Jesus told him. "Blessed are those who, without seeing, yet believed."

mnt@John:20:30 @ There were then many other signs which Jesus performed in the presence of his disciples, which have not been written in this book;

mnt@John:20:31 @ but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

mnt@John:21:1 @ After this Jesus showed himself again to his disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. He showed himself as follows.

mnt@John:21:2 @ There were together Simon Peter and Thomas, called "The Twin," and Nathanael, from Cana of Galilee, and the two sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.

mnt@John:21:3 @ Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They answered him, "And we are going with you." So they went out and got into the boat, and throughout the night they caught nothing.

mnt@John:21:4 @ But when day was dawning Jesus stood on the beach. The disciples, however, did not recognize that it was Jesus.

mnt@John:21:5 @ So Jesus said to them, "Lads, you havent any fish, have you?" They answered him, "No."

mnt@John:21:6 @ And he said to them, "Cast your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find." So they cast it, and now they could not haul it in for the multitude of fishes.

mnt@John:21:7 @ Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" On hearing that it was the Lord, Simon Peter girt his fishers coat about him (for he was naked), and threw himself into the water.

mnt@John:21:8 @ The rest of the disciples came in the boat, for they were not far from shore - only about a hundred yards - dragging in the net full of fish.

mnt@John:21:9 @ When they got to the shore they beheld a charcoal fire ready laid, with fish on it, and some bread.

mnt@John:21:10 @ "Bring some of the fish you have just caught," Jesus told them.

mnt@John:21:11 @ So Simon Peter went and dragged the net to shore, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; but for all this number the net was not torn.

mnt@John:21:12 @ "Come and have breakfast," said Jesus to them. Not one of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" Knowing that it was the Lord.

mnt@John:21:13 @ Jesus went and took bread and gave it to them, and the fish also.

mnt@John:21:14 @ This was the third time that Jesus showed himself to the disciples after he had risen from among the dead.

mnt@John:21:15 @ When they were through breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?" "Yes, Lord, you know that you are dear to me." he answered. Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs."

mnt@John:21:16 @ He said to him a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that you are dear to me." "Be a shepherd to my sheep," said Jesus.

mnt@John:21:17 @ The third time Jesus asked him, "Am I really dear to you?" Peter was grieved because the third time he asked, "Am I really dear to you?" and he answered, "Master, you know all things, you know that you are dear to me."

mnt@John:21:18 @ "Feed my sheep," said Jesus. "In solemn truth I tell you that when you were young, you used to put on your own girdle, and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old you will stretch out your hands for some one to gird you, and carry you where you do not wish to go."

mnt@John:21:19 @ This he said to show by what kind of death Peter was to glorify God. After speaking thus, he said to him, "Follow me."

mnt@John:21:20 @ Peter turned around and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following - he who at the supper leaned back upon his breast and said, "Lord, who is to betray you?"

mnt@John:21:21 @ On catching sight of him, Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, what about him?"

mnt@John:21:22 @ "If I choose that he remain until I come," said Jesus, "what is that to you? Do you follow me."

mnt@John:21:23 @ Accordingly the report spread among the brothers that this disciple should not die; but Jesus did not say that he was not to die, but said, "If I choose that he remain until I come, what is that to you?"

mnt@John:21:24 @ It is this disciple who bears testimony to these facts and who recorded them; and we know that his testimony is true.

mnt@John:21:25 @ But there are also many other things which Jesus did; if every one of them were to be recorded in detail I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would have to be written.

mnt@1John:1:7 @ But is we are passing our life in the light, as he is in the light, we ever have partnership with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ is cleansing us from every sin.

mnt@1John:1:8 @ If we say, "We have no sin," we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

mnt@1John:1:9 @ But if we confess our sins, faithful is he and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all wrong-doing.

mnt@1John:2:7 @ Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, nay, and old commandment, which you have had from the beginning. That old commandment is the message to which you have listened.

mnt@1John:2:9 @ He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness even until now.

mnt@1John:2:15 @ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

mnt@1John:2:16 @ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the proud glory of life, is not from the Father, but from the world;

mnt@1John:2:18 @ My children, this is the last hour, and as you have heard that an antichrist was coming, and now many antichrists are already risen, whence we may know that it is the last hour.

mnt@1John:3:8 @ He who is committing sin is of the devil, because from the beginning of the devil is sinning. It was for this cause that the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

mnt@1John:3:9 @ Whoever is a child of God cannot go on sinning, because his seed is abiding in him; and he cannot go on sinning because he is a child of God.

mnt@1John:3:10 @ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil; for every one who does not work righteousness is not a child of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

mnt@1John:3:14 @ We know that we have migrated, out of death into life, because we love our brothers. He who has no love is abiding in death.

mnt@1John:3:15 @ Every one who is hating his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

mnt@1John:3:16 @ By this we learn to know love, because he laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

mnt@1John:3:17 @ But whoever has this worlds goods, and beholds his brother in need, and shuts up his heart against him, how can the love of God continue to abide in him?

mnt@1John:3:18 @ My children, let us not love in word nor in talk, but in deed and in truth.

mnt@1John:3:19 @ By this we shall come to know that we are really of the truth,

mnt@1John:3:20 @ and shall persuade our heart in his presence whenever our heart condemns us, because God is greater than our heart and knows all things.

mnt@1John:3:21 @ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God,

mnt@1John:3:22 @ and whatever we ask we are receiving from him, because we are keeping his commandments and doing those things that are pleasing in his sight.

mnt@1John:3:23 @ His commandment is this, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another as he has commanded us to do.

mnt@1John:3:24 @ He who keeps his commandments is abiding in Him, and Christ in him. By this we know that Christ is abiding in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

mnt@1John:4:1 @ Do not believe every spirit, beloved, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God; for many false prophets are gone out into the world.

mnt@1John:4:2 @ By this you know the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is from God;

mnt@1John:4:3 @ and every spirit which confesses him not, is not from God. And this is that spirit of Antichrist of which you have heard that it is coming, and that now it is already in the world.

mnt@1John:4:4 @ My little children, you are of God and have conquered them; because he that is within you is greater than he that is in the world.

mnt@1John:4:5 @ They are of the world, and for this reason they speak as of the world, and the world listens to them.

mnt@1John:4:6 @ But you are of God. He who is beginning to know God listens to us; he who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we may distinguish the spirit of truth from the spirit of error.

mnt@1John:4:7 @ Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God; and every one that loves us a child of God.

mnt@1John:4:8 @ He who does not love, does not know God; for God is love.

mnt@1John:4:9 @ In this was the love of God clearly shown toward us, by his sending his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

mnt@1John:4:10 @ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins.

mnt@1John:4:11 @ If God so loved us, beloved, we also ought to love one another.

mnt@1John:4:12 @ No man has ever gazed on God; but if we love one another, God ever abides in us, and his love is perfected in us.

mnt@1John:4:13 @ By this we come to know that we are abiding in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit;

mnt@1John:4:14 @ and we have beheld and do testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

mnt@1John:4:15 @ If any man confesses that "Jesus is the Son of God." God is abiding in that man, and he in God.

mnt@1John:4:16 @ And we do know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love; and he who is abiding in love is abiding in God, and God is abiding in him.

mnt@1John:4:17 @ In this is love made perfect with us, so that we may have cheerful confidence in the Day of Judgment, because we are living in this world as He lives.

mnt@1John:4:18 @ Fear does not exist in love; but love, when it is perfect, drives out fear. For fear has always torment, and he who has fear is not yet perfected in love.

mnt@1John:4:19 @ We love because He loved us first.

mnt@1John:4:20 @ If any one says, "I love God," and yet hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot possibly love God, whom he has not seen.

mnt@1John:4:21 @ And we have this command from God. HE WHO LOVES GOD IS TO LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO.

mnt@1John:5:1 @ Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God; and every one who loves the Father, loves him also who is the Fathers Child.

mnt@1John:5:2 @ By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments.

mnt@1John:5:3 @ For love to God means obeying his commandments; and his commandments are not irksome.

mnt@1John:5:4 @ For whoever is a child of God is overcoming the world; and our faith is the victory that has overcome the world.

mnt@1John:5:5 @ And who it the one that is overcoming the world if not the man who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

mnt@1John:5:6 @ Jesus Christ is he who came by water and blood, not by the water only, but by the water and by the blood. The spirit is he who bears testimony, because the Spirit is the truth.

mnt@1John:5:7 @ For there are three who bear testimony, the Spirit, and the water,

mnt@1John:5:8 @ and the blood; and the three are one.

mnt@1John:5:9 @ If we accept mens testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God, that he has borne testimony concerning his Son.

mnt@1John:5:10 @ He who believes on the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God, has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son.

mnt@1John:5:11 @ And the testimony is this, "God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son."

mnt@1John:5:12 @ He who has the Son has the life; he who has not the Son of God has not the life.

mnt@1John:5:13 @ I have written these words to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God.

mnt@1John:5:14 @ Now the confidence which we have in him is this, that he listens to us whenever we ask anything that is in accordance with his will.

mnt@1John:5:15 @ And if we know that he is listening to us in what ever we are asking, we know that we obtain the petitions which we have made to him.

mnt@1John:5:16 @ If any one sees his brother committing a sin that is not deadly, he shall ask, and God will give him life, for any one who is not committing a deadly sin. There is a deadly sin; concerning that I do not say that he should pray.

mnt@1John:5:17 @ All unrighteousness is sin; and there is sin that is not deadly.

mnt@1John:5:18 @ We know that whoever is a child of God is not habitually committing sin; but he who is Gods child guards himself, and the Evil One never touches him.

mnt@1John:5:19 @ We know that we are of God, and the whole world is lying in the Evil One.

mnt@1John:5:20 @ And we know that the Son of God is come, and has granted us and understanding, so that we may come to know him who is true. And we are in him who is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and life eternal.

mnt@1John:5:21 @ My little children, guard yourselves from idols.

mnt@2John:1:1 @ The Elder to the Elect Lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have come to know the truth.
