* Many of his disciples having heard it , said , This is hard doctrine ; who can understand it ? * Jesus , knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at it , said to them , lont @John:6:62 " /> lont @John:6:63 " /> * (For Jesus knew from the beginning , who they were that did not believe , and who he was that would betray him .) * He added , * From this time , many of his disciples withdrew , and accompanied him no longer . * Then said Jesus to the twelve , * Simon Peter answered , Master , to whom should we go ? You have the words of eternal life : * and we believe , and know that you are the Holy One of God . * Jesus answered them , * He meant Judas Iscariot , son of Simon ; for it was he who was to betray him , though he was one of the twelve .
