* "That is why I said that you would die in your sins . For if you do not believe that I am He , you will die in your sins ." * "Who are you ?" then they asked him . "What I am telling you from the beginning ," Jesus answered . * "I have many things to say and to judge concerning you . But he who sent me is true , and I speak to the world only those things which I have heard from him ." * They did not understand that he meant the Father , * so Jesus added . "When you lifted up the Son of man , then you will know that I am He ; and that I do nothing on my own authority , but that I speak just as the Father has taught me , * "and he who sent me is with me . He has not left me alone , for I do always the things that please him ." * When he spoke in this way , many of the Jews believed in him .
