* but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives . * Early in the morning he returned to the temple , and all the people having come to him , he sat down and taught them . * Then the Scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman , taken in adultery ; and having placed her in the middle , * said to him , Rabbi , this woman was surprised in the act of adultery . * Now Moses has commanded in the law , that such should be stoned ; and what do you say ? * They said this to try him , that they might have matter for accusing him .
