* And when he was come near (5656 ), he beheld (5631 ) the city , and wept (5656 ) over it , * Saying (5723 ), If thou hadst known (5627 ), even thou , at least in this thy day , the things which belong unto thy peace ! but now they are hid (5648 ) from thine eyes . * For the days shall come (5692 ) upon thee , that thine enemies shall cast a trench about (5692 ) thee , and compass thee round (5692 ), and keep thee in (5692 ) on every side , * And shall lay thee even with the ground (5692 ), and thy children within thee ; and they shall not leave (5692 ) in thee one stone upon another ; because thou knewest (5627 ) not the time of thy visitation . * And he went (5631 ) into the temple , and began (5662 ) to cast out (5721 ) them that sold (5723 ) therein , and them that bought (5723 ); * Saying (5723 ) unto them , It is written (5769 ), My house is (5748 ) the house of prayer : but ye have made (5656 ) it a den of thieves . * And he taught (5713 ) (5723 ) daily in the temple . But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought (5707 ) to destroy (5658 ) him , * And could not find (5707 ) what they might do (5661 ): for all the people were very attentive (5710 ) to hear (5723 ) him .
