* Now his parents went (5711 ) to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover . * And when he was (5633 ) twelve years old , they went up (5631 ) to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast . * And when they had fulfilled (5660 ) the days , as they returned (5721 ), the child Jesus tarried behind (5656 ) in Jerusalem ; and Joseph and his mother knew (5627 ) not of it . * But they , supposing (5660 ) him to have been (5750 ) in the company , went (5627 ) a days journey ; and they sought (5707 ) him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance . * And when they found (5631 ) him not , they turned back again (5656 ) to Jerusalem , seeking (5723 ) him . * And it came to pass (5633 ), that after three days they found (5627 ) him in the temple , sitting (5740 ) in the midst of the doctors , both hearing (5723 ) them , and asking them questions (5723 ). * And all that heard (5723 ) him were astonished (5710 ) at his understanding and answers . * And when they saw (5631 ) him , they were amazed (5648 ): and his mother said (5627 ) unto him , Son , why hast thou thus dealt (5656 ) with us ? behold (5628 ), thy father and I have sought (5707 ) thee sorrowing (5746 ). * And he said (5627 ) unto them , How is it that ye sought (5707 ) me ? wist ye (5715 ) not that I must (5748 ) be (5750 ) about my Fathers business ? * And they understood (5656 ) not the saying which he spake (5656 ) unto them . * And he went down (5627 ) with them , and came (5627 ) to Nazareth , and was (5713 ) subject (5746 ) unto them : but his mother kept (5707 ) all these sayings in her heart . * And Jesus increased (5707 ) in wisdom and stature , and in favour with God and man .
