* And there were (5713 ) in the same country shepherds abiding in the field (5723 ), keeping (5723 ) watch over their flock by night . * And , lo (5628 ), the angel of the Lord came upon (5627 ) them , and the glory of the Lord shone round about (5656 ) them : and they were sore afraid (5675 ). * And the angel said (5627 ) unto them , Fear (5737 ) not : for , behold (5628 ), I bring you good tidings (5731 ) of great joy , which shall be (5704 ) to all people . * For unto you is born (5681 ) this day in the city of David a Saviour , which is (5748 ) Christ the Lord . * And this shall be a sign unto you ; Ye shall find (5692 ) the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes (5772 ), lying (5740 ) in a manger . * And suddenly there was (5633 ) with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising (5723 ) God , and saying (5723 ), * Glory to God in the highest , and on earth peace , good will toward men . * And it came to pass (5633 ), as the angels were gone away (5627 ) from them into heaven , the shepherds said (5627 ) one to another , Let us now go (5632 ) even unto Bethlehem , and see (5632 ) this thing which is come to pass (5756 ), which the Lord hath made known (5656 ) unto us . * And they came (5627 ) with haste (5660 ), and found (5627 ) Mary , and Joseph , and the babe lying (5740 ) in a manger . * And when they had seen (5631 ) it , they made known abroad (5656 ) the saying which was told (5685 ) them concerning this child . * And all they that heard (5660 ) it wondered (5656 ) at those things which were told (5685 ) them by the shepherds . * But Mary kept (5707 ) all these things , and pondered (5723 ) them in her heart . * And the shepherds returned (5656 ), glorifying (5723 ) and praising (5723 ) God for all the things that they had heard (5656 ) and seen (5627 ), as it was told (5681 ) unto them .
