* And he looked up (5660 ), and saw (5627 ) the rich men casting (5723 ) their gifts into the treasury . * And he saw (5627 ) also a certain poor widow casting (5723 ) in thither two mites . * And he said (5627 ), Of a truth I say (5719 ) unto you , that this poor widow hath cast (5627 ) in more than they all : * For all these have of their abundance (5723 ) cast (5627 ) in unto the offerings of God : but she (5625 ) of her penury hath cast (5627 ) in all the living that she had (5707 ). * And as some spake (5723 ) of the temple , how it was adorned (5769 ) with goodly stones and gifts , he said (5627 ), * As for these things which ye behold (5719 ), the days will come (5695 ), in the which there shall not be left (5701 ) one stone upon another , that shall not be thrown down (5701 ). * And they asked (5656 ) him , saying (5723 ), Master , but when shall these things be (5704 )? and what sign will there be when these things shall (5725 ) come to pass (5738 )? * And he said (5627 ), Take heed (5720 ) that ye be not deceived (5686 ): for many shall come (5695 ) in my name , saying (5723 ), I am (5748 ) Christ ; and the time draweth near (5758 ): go ye (5680 ) not therefore after them . * But when ye shall hear (5661 ) of wars and commotions , be not terrified (5686 ): for these things must (5748 ) first come to pass (5635 ); but the end is not by and by . * Then said he (5707 ) unto them , Nation shall rise (5701 ) against nation , and kingdom against kingdom : * And great earthquakes shall be (5704 ) in divers places , and famines , and pestilences ; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be (5704 ) from heaven . * But before all these , they shall lay (5692 ) their hands on you , and persecute (5692 ) you , delivering (5723 ) you up to the synagogues , and into prisons , being brought (5746 ) before kings and rulers for my names sake . * And it shall turn (5695 ) to you for a testimony . * Settle (5640 ) it therefore in your hearts , not to meditate before (5721 ) what ye shall answer (5677 ): * For I will give (5692 ) you a mouth and wisdom , which all your adversaries (5740 ) shall not be able (5695 ) to gainsay (5629 ) nor resist (5629 ). * And ye shall be betrayed (5701 ) both by parents , and brethren , and kinsfolks , and friends ; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death (5692 ). * And ye shall be (5704 ) hated (5746 ) of all men for my names sake . * But there shall not an hair of your head perish (5643 ). * In your patience possess ye (5663 ) your souls . * And when ye shall see (5632 ) Jerusalem compassed (5746 ) with armies , then know (5628 ) that the desolation thereof is nigh (5758 ). * Then let them which are in Judaea flee (5720 ) to the mountains ; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out (5720 ); and let not them that are in the countries enter (5737 ) thereinto . * For these be (5748 ) the days of vengeance , that all things which are written (5772 ) may be fulfilled (5683 ). * But woe unto them that are with child (5723 ), and to them that give suck (5723 ), in those days ! for there shall be (5704 ) great distress in the land , and wrath upon this people . * And they shall fall (5699 ) by the edge of the sword , and shall be led away captive (5701 ) into all nations : and Jerusalem shall be (5704 ) trodden down (5746 ) of the Gentiles , until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled (5686 ). * And there shall be (5704 ) signs in the sun , and in the moon , and in the stars ; and upon the earth distress of nations , with perplexity ; the sea and the waves roaring (5723 ); * Mens hearts failing them (5723 ) for fear , and for looking after those things which are coming on (5740 ) the earth : for the powers of heaven shall be shaken (5701 ). * And then shall they see (5695 ) the Son of man coming (5740 ) in a cloud with power and great glory . * And when these things begin (5734 ) to come to pass (5738 ), then look up (5657 ), and lift up (5657 ) your heads ; for your redemption draweth nigh (5719 ). * And he spake (5627 ) to them a parable ; Behold (5628 ) the fig tree , and all the trees ; * When they now shoot forth (5632 ), ye see (5723 ) and know (5719 ) of your own selves that summer is (5748 ) now nigh at hand . * So likewise ye , when ye see (5632 ) these things come to pass (5740 ), know ye (5720 ) that the kingdom of God is (5748 ) nigh at hand . * Verily I say (5719 ) unto you , This generation shall not pass away (5632 ), till all be fulfilled (5638 ). * Heaven and earth shall pass away (5695 ): but my words shall not pass away (5632 ). * And take heed (5720 ) to yourselves , lest at any time your hearts be overcharged (5686 ) with surfeiting , and drunkenness , and cares of this life , and so that day come (5632 ) upon you unawares . * For as a snare shall it come (5695 ) on all them that dwell (5740 ) on the face of the whole earth . * Watch ye (5720 ) therefore , and pray (5740 ) always , that ye may be accounted worthy (5686 ) to escape (5629 ) all these things that shall (5723 ) come to pass (5738 ), and to stand (5683 ) before the Son of man . * And in the day time he was (5713 ) teaching (5723 ) in the temple ; and at night he went out (5740 ), and abode (5711 ) in the mount that is called (5746 ) the mount of Olives . * And all the people came early in the morning (5707 ) to him in the temple , for to hear (5721 ) him . * Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh (5707 ), which is called (5746 ) the Passover . * And the chief priests and scribes sought (5707 ) how they might kill (5661 ) him ; for they feared (5711 ) the people . * Then entered (5627 ) Satan into Judas surnamed (5746 ) Iscariot , being (5752 ) of the number of the twelve . * And he went his way (5631 ), and communed with (5656 ) the chief priests and captains , how he might betray (5632 ) him unto them . * And they were glad (5644 ), and covenanted (5639 ) to give (5629 ) him money . * And he promised (5656 ), and sought (5707 ) opportunity to betray (5629 ) him unto them in the absence of the multitude . * Then came (5627 ) the day of unleavened bread , when the passover must (5713 ) be killed (5745 ). * And he sent (5656 ) Peter and John , saying (5631 ), Go (5679 ) and prepare (5657 ) us the passover , that we may eat (5632 ). * And they said (5627 ) unto him , Where wilt thou (5719 ) that we prepare (5661 )? * And he said (5627 ) unto them , Behold (5628 ), when ye are entered (5631 ) into the city , there shall a man meet (5692 ) you , bearing (5723 ) a pitcher of water ; follow (5657 ) him into the house where he entereth in (5736 ). * And ye shall say (5692 ) unto the goodman of the house , The Master saith (5719 ) unto thee , Where is (5748 ) the guestchamber , where I shall eat (5632 ) the passover with my disciples ? * And he shall shew (5692 ) you a large upper room furnished (5772 ): there make ready (5657 ). * And they went (5631 ), and found (5627 ) as he had said (5758 ) unto them : and they made ready (5656 ) the passover . * And when the hour was come (5633 ), he sat down (5627 ), and the twelve apostles with him . * And he said (5627 ) unto them , With desire I have desired (5656 ) to eat (5629 ) this passover with you before I suffer (5629 ): * For I say (5719 ) unto you , I will not any more eat (5632 ) thereof , until it be fulfilled (5686 ) in the kingdom of God . * And he took (5666 ) the cup , and gave thanks (5660 ), and said (5627 ), Take (5628 ) this , and divide (5657 ) it among yourselves : * For I say (5719 ) unto you , I will not drink (5632 ) of the fruit of the vine , until the kingdom of God shall come (5632 ). * And he took (5631 ) bread , and gave thanks (5660 ), and brake (5656 ) it , and gave (5656 ) unto them , saying (5723 ), This is (5748 ) my body which is given (5746 ) for you : this do (5720 ) in remembrance of me . * Likewise also the cup after supper (5658 ), saying (5723 ), This cup is the new testament in my blood , which is shed (5746 ) for you . * But , behold (5628 ), the hand of him that betrayeth (5723 ) me is with me on the table . * And truly the Son of man goeth (5736 ), as it was determined (5772 ): but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed (5743 )! * And they began (5662 ) to enquire (5721 ) among themselves , which of them it was (5751 ) that should (5723 ) do (5721 ) this thing . * And there was (5633 ) also a strife among them , which of them should be accounted (5719 ) (5750 ) the greatest . * And he said (5627 ) unto them , The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over (5719 ) them ; and they that exercise authority upon (5723 ) them are called (5743 ) benefactors . * But ye shall not be so : but he that is greatest among you , let him be (5634 ) as the younger ; and he that is chief (5740 ), as he that doth serve (5723 ). * For whether is greater , he that sitteth at meat (5740 ), or he that serveth (5723 )? is not he that sitteth at meat (5740 )? but I am (5748 ) among you as he that serveth (5723 ). * Ye are (5748 ) they which have continued (5761 ) with me in my temptations . * And I appoint (5731 ) unto you a kingdom , as my Father hath appointed (5639 ) unto me ; * That ye may eat (5725 ) and drink (5725 ) at my table in my kingdom , and sit (5667 ) on thrones judging (5723 ) the twelve tribes of Israel . * And the Lord said (5627 ), Simon , Simon , behold (5628 ), Satan hath desired (5668 ) to have you , that he may sift (5658 ) you as wheat : * But I have prayed (5681 ) for thee , that thy faith fail (5725 ) not : and when thou art converted (5660 ), strengthen (5657 ) thy brethren . * And he said (5627 ) unto him , Lord , I am (5748 ) ready to go (5738 ) with thee , both into prison , and to death . * And he said (5627 ), I tell (5719 ) thee , Peter , the cock shall not crow (5692 ) this day , before that thou shalt thrice deny (5695 ) that thou knowest (5760 ) me . * And he said (5627 ) unto them , When I sent (5656 ) you without purse , and scrip , and shoes , lacked ye (5656 ) any thing ? And they said (5627 ), Nothing . * Then said he (5627 ) unto them , But now , he that hath (5723 ) a purse , let him take (5657 ) it , and likewise his scrip : and he that hath (5723 ) no sword , let him sell (5657 ) his garment , and buy (5692 ) one . * For I say (5719 ) unto you , that this that is written (5772 ) must (5748 ) yet be accomplished (5683 ) in me , And he was reckoned (5681 ) among the transgressors : for the things concerning me have (5719 ) an end . * And they said (5627 ), Lord , behold (5628 ), here are two swords . And he said (5627 ) unto them , It is (5748 ) enough . * And he came out (5631 ), and went (5675 ), as he was wont , to the mount of Olives ; and his disciples also followed (5656 ) him . * And when he was (5637 ) at the place , he said (5627 ) unto them , Pray (5737 ) that ye enter (5629 ) not into temptation . * And he was withdrawn (5681 ) from them about a stones cast , and kneeled down (5631 ), and prayed (5711 ), * Saying (5723 ), Father , if thou be willing (5736 ), remove (5629 ) (5625 ) (5628 ) this cup from me : nevertheless not my will , but thine , be done (5634 ). * And there appeared (5681 ) an angel unto him from heaven , strengthening (5723 ) him . * And being (5637 ) in an agony he prayed (5711 ) more earnestly : and his sweat was (5633 ) as it were great drops of blood falling down (5723 ) to the ground . * And when he rose up (5631 ) from prayer , and was come (5631 ) to his disciples , he found (5627 ) them sleeping (5746 ) for sorrow , * And said (5627 ) unto them , Why sleep ye (5719 )? rise (5631 ) and pray (5737 ), lest ye enter (5632 ) into temptation . * And while he yet spake (5723 ), behold (5628 ) a multitude , and he that was called (5746 ) Judas , one of the twelve , went before (5711 ) them , and drew near (5656 ) unto Jesus to kiss (5658 ) him . * But Jesus said (5627 ) unto him , Judas , betrayest thou (5719 ) the Son of man with a kiss ? * When they which were about him saw (5631 ) what would follow (5706 ), they said (5627 ) unto him , Lord , shall we smite (5692 ) with the sword ? * And one of them smote (5656 ) the servant of the high priest , and cut off (5627 ) his right ear . * And Jesus answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ), Suffer ye (5720 ) thus far . And he touched (5671 ) his ear , and healed (5662 ) him . * Then Jesus said (5627 ) unto the chief priests , and captains of the temple , and the elders , which were come (5637 ) to him , Be ye come out (5758 ), as against a thief , with swords and staves ? * When I was (5752 ) daily with you in the temple , ye stretched forth (5656 ) no hands against me : but this is (5748 ) your hour , and the power of darkness . * Then took they (5631 ) him , and led (5627 ) him , and brought (5627 ) him into the high priests house . And Peter followed (5707 ) afar off . * And when they had kindled (5660 ) a fire in the midst of the hall , and were set down together (5660 ), Peter sat down (5711 ) among them . * But a certain maid beheld (5631 ) him as he sat (5740 ) by the fire , and earnestly looked (5660 ) upon him , and said (5627 ), This man was (5713 ) also with him . * And he denied (5662 ) him , saying (5723 ), Woman , I know (5758 ) him not . * And after a little while another saw (5631 ) him , and said (5713 ), Thou art (5748 ) also of them . And Peter said (5627 ), Man , I am (5748 ) not . * And about the space (5631 ) of one hour after another confidently affirmed (5711 ), saying (5723 ), Of a truth this fellow also was (5713 ) with him : for he is (5748 ) a Galilaean . * And Peter said (5627 ), Man , I know (5758 ) not what thou sayest (5719 ). And immediately , while he yet spake (5723 ), the cock crew (5656 ). * And the Lord turned (5651 ), and looked upon (5656 ) Peter . And Peter remembered (5656 ) the word of the Lord , how he had said (5627 ) unto him , Before the cock crow (5658 ), thou shalt deny (5695 ) me thrice . * And Peter went (5631 ) out , and wept (5656 ) bitterly . * And the men that held (5723 ) Jesus mocked (5707 ) him , and smote (5723 ) him . * And when they had blindfolded (5660 ) him , they struck (5707 ) him on the face , and asked (5707 ) him , saying (5723 ), Prophesy (5657 ), who is it (5748 ) that smote (5660 ) thee ? * And many other things blasphemously (5723 ) spake they (5707 ) against him . * And as soon as it was (5633 ) day , the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together (5681 ), and led (5627 ) him into their council , saying (5723 ), * Art (5748 ) thou the Christ ? tell (5628 ) us . And he said (5627 ) unto them , If I tell (5632 ) you , ye will not believe (5661 ): * And if I also ask (5661 ) you , ye will not answer (5676 ) me , nor let me go (5661 ). * Hereafter shall (5704 ) the Son of man sit (5740 ) on the right hand of the power of God . * Then said (5713 ) they all , Art (5748 ) thou then the Son of God ? And he said (5627 ) unto them , Ye say (5719 ) that I am (5748 ). * And they said (5627 ), What need (5719 ) we any further witness ? for we ourselves have heard (5656 ) of his own mouth . * And the whole multitude of them arose (5631 ), and led (5627 ) him unto Pilate .
