* Then opened he (5656 ) their understanding , that they might understand (5721 ) the scriptures , * And said (5627 ) unto them , Thus it is written (5769 ), and thus it behoved (5713 ) Christ to suffer (5629 ), and to rise (5629 ) from the dead the third day : * And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached (5683 ) in his name among all nations , beginning (5671 ) at Jerusalem . * And ye are (5748 ) witnesses of these things . * And , behold (5628 ), I send (5719 ) the promise of my Father upon you : but tarry (5657 ) ye in the city of Jerusalem , until ye be endued (5672 ) with power from on high . * And he led (5627 ) them out as far as to Bethany , and he lifted up (5660 ) his hands , and blessed (5656 ) them . * And it came to pass (5633 ), while he blessed (5721 ) them , he was parted (5627 ) from them , and carried up (5712 ) into heaven .
