* And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned (5656 ) from Jordan , and was led (5712 ) by the Spirit into the wilderness , * Being forty days tempted (5746 ) of the devil . And in those days he did eat (5627 ) nothing : and when they were ended (5685 ), he afterward hungered (5656 ). * And the devil said (5627 ) unto him , If thou be (5748 ) the Son of God , command (5628 ) this stone that it be made (5638 ) bread . * And Jesus answered (5662 ) him , saying (5723 ), It is written (5769 ), That man shall not live (5695 ) by bread alone , but by every word of God .
