* And it came to pass (5633 ) on the second sabbath after the first , that he went (5738 ) through the corn fields ; and his disciples plucked (5707 ) the ears of corn , and did eat (5707 ), rubbing (5723 ) them in their hands . * And certain of the Pharisees said (5627 ) unto them , Why do ye (5719 ) that which is not lawful (5748 ) to do (5721 ) on the sabbath days ? * And Jesus answering (5679 ) them said (5627 ), Have ye not read (5627 ) so much as this , what David did (5656 ), when himself was an hungred (5656 ), and they which were (5752 ) with him ; * How he went (5627 ) into the house of God , and did take (5627 ) and eat (5627 ) the shewbread , and gave (5656 ) also to them that were with him ; which it is not lawful (5748 ) to eat (5629 ) but for the priests alone ? * And he said (5707 ) unto them , That the Son of man is (5748 ) Lord also of the sabbath .
