* But I say (5719 ) unto you which hear (5723 ), Love (5720 ) your enemies , do (5720 ) good to them which hate (5723 ) you , * Bless (5720 ) them that curse (5740 ) you , and pray (5737 ) for them which despitefully use (5723 ) you . * And unto him that smiteth (5723 ) thee on the one cheek offer (5720 ) also the other ; and him that taketh away (5723 ) thy cloke forbid (5661 ) not to take thy coat also . * Give (5720 ) to every man that asketh (5723 ) of thee ; and of him that taketh away (5723 ) thy goods ask them not again (5720 ). * And as ye would (5719 ) that men should do (5725 ) to you , do (5720 ) ye also to them likewise . * For if ye love (5719 ) them which love (5723 ) you , what thank have (5748 ) ye ? for sinners also love (5723 ) those that love (5719 ) them . * And if ye do good (5725 ) to them which do good (5723 ) to you , what thank have (5748 ) ye ? for sinners also do (5719 ) even the same . * And if ye lend (5725 ) to them of whom ye hope (5719 ) (5625 ) (5725 ) to receive (5629 ), what thank have (5748 ) ye ? for sinners also lend (5719 ) to sinners , to receive as much again (5632 ). * But love ye (5720 ) your enemies , and do good (5720 ), and lend (5720 ), hoping for nothing again (5723 ); and your reward shall be (5704 ) great , and ye shall be (5704 ) the children of the Highest : for he is (5748 ) kind unto the unthankful and to the evil . * Be ye (5737 ) therefore merciful , as your Father also is (5748 ) merciful . * Judge (5720 ) not , and ye shall not be judged (5686 ): condemn (5720 ) not , and ye shall not be condemned (5686 ): forgive (5720 ), and ye shall be forgiven (5701 ): * Give (5720 ), and it shall be given (5701 ) unto you ; good measure , pressed down (5772 ), and shaken together (5772 ), and running over (5746 ), shall men give (5692 ) into your bosom . For with the same measure that ye mete withal (5719 ) it shall be measured to you again (5701 ). * And he spake (5627 ) a parable unto them , Can (5736 ) the blind lead (5721 ) the blind ? shall they not both fall (5699 ) into the ditch ? * The disciple is (5748 ) not above his master : but every one that is perfect (5772 ) shall be (5704 ) as his master . * And why beholdest thou (5719 ) the mote that is in thy brothers eye , but perceivest (5719 ) not the beam that is in thine own eye ? * Either how canst thou (5736 ) say (5721 ) to thy brother , Brother , let me (5628 ) pull out (5632 ) the mote that is in thine eye , when thou thyself beholdest (5723 ) not the beam that is in thine own eye ? Thou hypocrite , cast out (5628 ) first the beam out of thine own eye , and then shalt thou see clearly (5692 ) to pull out (5629 ) the mote that is in thy brothers eye . * For a good tree bringeth (5748 ) not forth (5723 ) corrupt fruit ; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth (5723 ) good fruit . * For every tree is known (5743 ) by his own fruit . For of thorns men do not gather (5719 ) figs , nor of a bramble bush gather they (5719 ) grapes . * A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth (5719 ) that which is good ; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth (5719 ) that which is evil : for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh (5719 ). * And why call ye (5719 ) me , Lord , Lord , and do (5719 ) not the things which I say (5719 )? * Whosoever cometh (5740 ) to me , and heareth (5723 ) my sayings , and doeth (5723 ) them , I will shew (5692 ) you to whom he is (5748 ) like : * He is (5748 ) like a man which built (5723 ) an house , and digged (5656 ) deep (5656 ), and laid (5656 ) the foundation on a rock : and when the flood arose (5637 ), the stream beat vehemently (5656 ) upon that house , and could (5656 ) not shake (5658 ) it : for it was founded (5718 ) upon a rock . * But he that heareth (5660 ), and doeth (5660 ) not , is (5748 ) like a man that without a foundation built (5660 ) an house upon the earth ; against which the stream did beat vehemently (5656 ), and immediately it fell (5627 ); and the ruin of that house was (5633 ) great .
