* It was at that time that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee , and was baptized by Johnin the Jordan ; * and as soon as he rose from the water he saw the sky cleft asunder , and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him , * and a voice from the sky . "Thou art my Son , my beloved ; in thee is my delight ." * Then the Spirit drove him at once into the desert , * and he remained in the desert for forty days , tempted by Satan ; and he was among the wild beasts , but the angels were ministering to him .
