* And they came (5736 ) to Jericho : and as he went (5740 ) out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people , blind Bartimaeus , the son of Timaeus , sat (5711 ) by the highway side begging (5723 ). * And when he heard (5660 ) that it was (5748 ) Jesus of Nazareth , he began (5662 ) to cry out (5721 ), and say (5721 ), Jesus , thou Son of David , have mercy (5657 ) on me . * And many charged (5707 ) him that he should hold his peace (5661 ): but he cried (5707 ) the more a great deal , Thou Son of David , have mercy (5657 ) on me . * And Jesus stood still (5631 ), and commanded (5627 ) him to be called (5683 ). And they call (5719 ) the blind man , saying (5723 ) unto him , Be of good comfort (5720 ), rise (5669 ); he calleth (5719 ) thee . * And he , casting away (5631 ) his garment , rose (5631 ), and came (5627 ) to Jesus . * And Jesus answered (5679 ) and said (5719 ) unto him , What wilt (5719 ) thou that I should do (5661 ) unto thee ? The blind man said (5627 ) unto him , Lord , that I might receive my sight (5661 ). * And Jesus said (5627 ) unto him , Go thy way (5720 ); thy faith hath made thee whole (5758 ). And immediately he received his sight (5656 ), and followed (5707 ) Jesus in the way .
