Mark:14:53-65
noyes@Mark:14:53 @ And they led Jesus away to the highpriest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes come together.
noyes@Mark:14:54 @ And Peter followed him afar off, even into the court of the palace of the highpriest, and was sitting with the officers, and warming himself at the fire.
noyes@Mark:14:55 @ And the chief priests and the whole council sought for testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death; and they found none.
noyes@Mark:14:56 @ For many bore false witness against him, but their testimonies did not agree together.
noyes@Mark:14:57 @ And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,
noyes@Mark:14:58 @ We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another not made with hands.
noyes@Mark:14:59 @ And not even so did their testimony agree.
noyes@Mark:14:60 @ And the highpriest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Dost thou make no answer to what these men testify against thee?
noyes@Mark:14:61 @ But he was silent, and answered nothing. Again the highpriest asked him, and saith to him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
noyes@Mark:14:62 @ And Jesus said, I am; and ye will see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
noyes@Mark:14:63 @ Then the highpriest rent his garments, and said, What further need have we of witnesses?
noyes@Mark:14:64 @ Ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? And they all condemned him as deserving the punishment of death.
noyes@Mark:14:65 @ And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face and buffet him, and say to him, Prophesy! And the officers, with blows, took him in charge.
