* And as he passed by (5723 ), he saw (5627 ) Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting (5740 ) at the receipt of custom , and said (5719 ) unto him , Follow (5720 ) me . And he arose (5631 ) and followed (5656 ) him . * And it came to pass (5633 ), that , as Jesus sat at meat (5738 ) in his house , many publicans and sinners sat also together with (5711 ) Jesus and his disciples : for there were (5713 ) many , and they followed (5656 ) him . * And when the scribes and Pharisees saw (5631 ) him eat (5723 ) with publicans and sinners , they said (5707 ) unto his disciples , How is it that he eateth (5719 ) and drinketh (5719 ) with publicans and sinners ? * When Jesus heard (5660 ) it , he saith (5719 ) unto them , They that are whole (5723 ) have (5719 ) no need of the physician , but they that are (5723 ) sick : I came (5627 ) not to call (5658 ) the righteous , but sinners to repentance .
