* And it came to pass (5633 ), that he went (5738 ) through the corn fields on the sabbath day ; and his disciples began (5662 ), as they went (5721 ), to pluck (5723 ) the ears of corn . * And the Pharisees said (5707 ) unto him , Behold , why do they (5719 ) on the sabbath day that which is not lawful (5748 )? * And he said (5707 ) unto them , Have ye never read (5627 ) what David did (5656 ), when he had (5627 ) need , and was an hungred (5656 ), he , and they that were with him ? * How he went (5627 ) into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest , and did eat (5627 ) the shewbread , which is not lawful (5748 ) to eat (5629 ) but for the priests , and gave (5656 ) also to them which were (5752 ) with him ? * And he said (5707 ) unto them , The sabbath was made (5633 ) for man , and not man for the sabbath : * Therefore the Son of man is (5748 ) Lord also of the sabbath .
