* LEAVING there , he came to his own native place accompanied by his disciples . * When the Sabbath came , he began teaching in the synagogue . Many who heard were astonished and said , "Where did he get this , and what is this wisdom with which he is gifted ? How are such deeds of power done by his hands ? * Is not this the carpenter , the son of Mary and brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon ? And are not his sisters here with us ?" So they fell into mistake regarding him . * But Jesus said to them , * There he was unable to do any work of power , except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them . * Their lack of faith astonished him . He made a circuit through the villages , teaching .
