* And he saw (5627 ) them toiling (5746 ) in rowing (5721 ); for the wind was (5713 ) contrary unto them : and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh (5736 ) unto them , walking (5723 ) upon the sea , and would (5707 ) have passed by (5629 ) them . * But when they saw (5631 ) him walking (5723 ) upon the sea , they supposed (5656 ) it had been (5750 ) a spirit , and cried out (5656 ): * For they all saw (5627 ) him , and were troubled (5681 ). And immediately he talked (5656 ) with them , and saith (5719 ) unto them , Be of good cheer (5720 ): it is (5748 ) I ; be not afraid (5737 ). * And he went up (5627 ) unto them into the ship ; and the wind ceased (5656 ): and they were sore amazed (5710 ) in themselves beyond measure , and wondered (5707 ).
