Mark:8-9

mkjv@Mark:8:1 @ In those days, the crowd being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples and said to them,

mkjv@Mark:8:2 @ I have compassion on the crowd because they have now been with Me three days and have nothing to eat.

mkjv@Mark:8:3 @ And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint in the way. For many of them come from afar.

mkjv@Mark:8:4 @ And His disciples answered Him, From where can a man satisfy these [with] loaves here in the wilderness?

mkjv@Mark:8:5 @ And He asked them, How many loaves do you have? And they said, Seven.

mkjv@Mark:8:6 @ And He commanded the people to recline on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, and He broke and gave to His disciples to set before them. And they set [them before] the people.

mkjv@Mark:8:7 @ And they had a few fish. And He blessed and commanded them to also serve these.

mkjv@Mark:8:8 @ So they ate and were filled. And [they] took up over and above seven lunch baskets [of] fragments.

mkjv@Mark:8:9 @ And they who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away.

mkjv@Mark:8:10 @ And immediately He entered into a boat with His disciples and came into the region of Dalmanutha.

mkjv@Mark:8:11 @ And the Pharisees came out and began to dispute with Him, seeking a sign from Heaven from Him, tempting Him.

mkjv@Mark:8:12 @ And He sighed deeply in His spirit and said, Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly I say to you, [There shall no] sign be given to this generation.

mkjv@Mark:8:13 @ And He left them. And entering into the boat again, He departed to the other side.

mkjv@Mark:8:14 @ And [the disciples] had forgotten to take loaves, and they did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them.

mkjv@Mark:8:15 @ And He charged them, saying, Take heed! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and [of] the leaven of Herod.

mkjv@Mark:8:16 @ And they reasoned among themselves, saying, [It is] because we have no loaves.

mkjv@Mark:8:17 @ And knowing [it], Jesus said to them, Why do you reason [that it is] because you have no loaves? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Have you still hardened your heart?

mkjv@Mark:8:18 @ Do you have eyes and do not see? Do you have ears and do not hear? And do you not remember?

mkjv@Mark:8:19 @ When I broke the five loaves among five thousand, how many hand baskets full of fragments did you take up? They said to Him, Twelve.

mkjv@Mark:8:20 @ And when the seven among four thousand, how many lunch baskets full of fragments did you take up? And they said, Seven.

mkjv@Mark:8:21 @ And He said to them, How do you not understand?

mkjv@Mark:8:22 @ And He came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Him and begged Him to touch him.

mkjv@Mark:8:23 @ And He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spat on his eyes and had put [His] hands on him, He asked Him if he saw anything.

mkjv@Mark:8:24 @ And he looked up and said, I see men as trees, walking.

mkjv@Mark:8:25 @ And after that He put [His] hands again on his eyes and made him look up. And he was restored and saw all clearly.

mkjv@Mark:8:26 @ And He sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell [it] to any in the town.

mkjv@Mark:8:27 @ And Jesus and His disciples went out into the towns of Caesarea Philippi. And in the way He asked His disciples, saying to them, Who do men say that I am?

mkjv@Mark:8:28 @ And they answered, John the Baptist. But others [say] Elijah, and others say one of the prophets.

mkjv@Mark:8:29 @ And He said to them, But who do you say that I am? And Peter answered and said to Him, You are the Christ.

mkjv@Mark:8:30 @ And He charged them that they should tell no one of Him.

mkjv@Mark:8:31 @ And He began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

mkjv@Mark:8:32 @ And He spoke that saying openly. And Peter took Him and began to rebuke Him.

mkjv@Mark:8:33 @ But when He had turned around and looked on His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, Go behind Me, Satan! For you do not mind the things of God, but of the things of men.

mkjv@Mark:8:34 @ And calling near the crowd with His disciples, He said to them, Whoever will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

mkjv@Mark:8:35 @ For whoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel's, he shall save it.

mkjv@Mark:8:36 @ For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

mkjv@Mark:8:37 @ Or what shall a man give in exchange [for] his soul?

mkjv@Mark:8:38 @ Therefore whoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man shall also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.

mkjv@Mark:9:1 @ And He said to them, Truly I say to you that there are some of those who stand here who shall not taste of death until they see the kingdom of God come with power.

mkjv@Mark:9:2 @ And after six days Jesus took Peter and James and John and led them up into a high mountain, apart by themselves. And He was transfigured before them.

mkjv@Mark:9:3 @ And His clothing became shining, exceedingly white as snow such as no fuller on earth could whiten them.

mkjv@Mark:9:4 @ And Elijah with Moses was seen by them, and they were talking with Jesus.

mkjv@Mark:9:5 @ And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good [for] us to be here. And let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

mkjv@Mark:9:6 @ For he did not know what to say, for they were very much afraid.

mkjv@Mark:9:7 @ And there was a cloud that overshadowed them. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is My beloved Son. Hear Him.

mkjv@Mark:9:8 @ And suddenly, looking around, they did not see anyone any more, except Jesus alone with themselves.

mkjv@Mark:9:9 @ And as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things that they had seen until the Son of man had risen from [the] dead.

mkjv@Mark:9:10 @ And they kept that saying within themselves, debating with one another what the rising from [the] dead [is].

mkjv@Mark:9:11 @ And they asked Him, saying, Why do the scribes say that Elijah must first come?

mkjv@Mark:9:12 @ And He answered and told them, Elijah truly does come first and restores all things. And how has it been written of the Son of man that He should suffer many things and be despised?

mkjv@Mark:9:13 @ But I say to you that Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they desired, as it is written of him.

mkjv@Mark:9:14 @ And coming to [His] disciples, He saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them.

mkjv@Mark:9:15 @ And immediately all the crowd, seeing Him, were greatly amazed, and they were running to [Him] to greet Him.

mkjv@Mark:9:16 @ And He asked the scribes, What are you discussing with them?

mkjv@Mark:9:17 @ And one of the crowd answered and said, Teacher, I have brought my son who has a dumb spirit to You.

mkjv@Mark:9:18 @ And wherever he seizes him, he dashes him. And he foams and gnashes his teeth and pines away. And I spoke to Your disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not.

mkjv@Mark:9:19 @ He answered him and said, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me!

mkjv@Mark:9:20 @ And they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, the spirit immediately convulsed him. And he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming.

mkjv@Mark:9:21 @ And He asked his father, How long ago has it been since this came to him? And he said, From childhood.

mkjv@Mark:9:22 @ And oftentimes it has cast him into the fire and into the waters to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.

mkjv@Mark:9:23 @ Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things [are] possible to him who believes.

mkjv@Mark:9:24 @ And immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.

mkjv@Mark:9:25 @ And seeing that a crowd is running together, Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, Dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter no more into him!

mkjv@Mark:9:26 @ And [the spirit] cried out, throwing him into convulsions, and came out of him. And he was like one dead, so that many said, He is dead.

mkjv@Mark:9:27 @ But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

mkjv@Mark:9:28 @ And He entering into a house, His disciples asked Him privately, [Why] could we not cast him out?

mkjv@Mark:9:29 @ And He said to them, This kind can come out by nothing except by prayer and fasting.

mkjv@Mark:9:30 @ And going out from there, they passed through Galilee. And He desired that no one should know.

mkjv@Mark:9:31 @ For He taught His disciples and said to them, The Son of man is delivered into [the] hands of men, and they shall kill him. And after He is killed, He shall rise the third day.

mkjv@Mark:9:32 @ But they did not understand that saying and were afraid to ask Him.

mkjv@Mark:9:33 @ And He came to Capernaum. And being in the house, He asked them, What was it that you disputed among yourselves in the way?

mkjv@Mark:9:34 @ But they were silent. For in the way they had disputed among themselves who [was] the greatest.

mkjv@Mark:9:35 @ And He sat down and called the Twelve and said to them, If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.

mkjv@Mark:9:36 @ And He took a child, and embraced it, and set him in their midst. And He said to them,

mkjv@Mark:9:37 @ Whoever receives one of such children on My name receives Me. And whoever receives Me does not [only] receives Me, but Him who sent Me.

mkjv@Mark:9:38 @ And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out demons in Your name, and he does not follow us. And we forbade him, because he does not follow us.

mkjv@Mark:9:39 @ But Jesus said, Do not forbid him. For there is no one who shall do a work of power in My name who can lightly speak evil of Me.

mkjv@Mark:9:40 @ For he who is not against us is for us.

mkjv@Mark:9:41 @ For whoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you [belong] to Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

mkjv@Mark:9:42 @ And whoever shall offend one of [these] little ones who believe in Me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck and he were cast into the sea.

mkjv@Mark:9:43 @ And if your hand offends you, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than to have two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched

mkjv@Mark:9:44 @ where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

mkjv@Mark:9:45 @ And if your foot offends you, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame than to have two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched

mkjv@Mark:9:46 @ where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

mkjv@Mark:9:47 @ And if your eye offends you, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes to be cast into hell fire

mkjv@Mark:9:48 @ where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

mkjv@Mark:9:49 @ For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

mkjv@Mark:9:50 @ Salt [is] good; but if the salt becomes saltless, with what will you season? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.

mkjv@Mark:10:1 @ And He arose from there. And He came into the borders of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And again a crowd came together to Him. And as was His custom, He taught them again.
