* And Jacob begat (5656 ) Joseph the husband of Mary , of whom was born (5681 ) Jesus , who is called (5746 ) Christ . * So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations ; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations ; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations . * Now the birth of Jesus Christ was (5713 ) on this wise : When as his mother Mary was espoused (5685 ) to Joseph , before they came together (5629 ), she was found (5681 ) with child (5723 ) of the Holy Ghost .
