* But when the Pharisees saw (5631 ) it , they said (5627 ) unto him , Behold (5628 ), thy disciples do (5719 ) that which is not lawful (5748 ) to do (5721 ) upon the sabbath day . * But he said (5627 ) unto them , Have ye not read (5627 ) what David did (5656 ), when he was an hungred (5656 ), and they that were with him ; * How he entered into (5627 ) the house of God , and did eat (5627 ) the shewbread , which was (5713 ) not lawful (5752 ) for him to eat (5629 ), neither for them which were with him , but only for the priests ? * Or have ye not read (5627 ) in the law , how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane (5719 ) the sabbath , and are (5748 ) blameless ? * But I say (5719 ) unto you , That in this place is one (5748 ) greater than the temple . * But if ye had known (5715 ) what this meaneth (5748 ), I will have (5719 ) mercy , and not sacrifice , ye would not have condemned (5656 ) the guiltless . * For the Son of man is (5748 ) Lord even of the sabbath day .
