tcent@Matthew:14:22 @ Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the multitudes.

tcent@Matthew:14:23 @ And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,

tcent@Matthew:14:24 @ but the boat by this time was many furlongs distant from the land, beaten by the waves; for the wind was against them.

tcent@Matthew:14:25 @ And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.

tcent@Matthew:14:26 @ But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, »It is a ghost!« And they cried out for fear.

tcent@Matthew:14:27 @ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, »Take courage! It is I; do not be afraid.«

tcent@Matthew:14:28 @ And Peter answered him, »Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.«

tcent@Matthew:14:29 @ So he said, »Come«. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

tcent@Matthew:14:30 @ But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, »Lord, save me!«

tcent@Matthew:14:31 @ Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, and said to him, »O you of little faith, why did you doubt?«

tcent@Matthew:14:32 @ And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

tcent@Matthew:14:33 @ Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, »Truly you are the Son of God.«

tcent@Matthew:14:34 @ When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.

tcent@Matthew:14:35 @ And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent to all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick,

tcent@Matthew:14:36 @ and begged him that they might only touch the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched it were made well.
