* And said (5627 ), For this cause shall a man leave (5692 ) father and mother , and shall cleave (5701 ) to his wife : and they twain shall be (5704 ) one flesh ? * Wherefore they are (5748 ) no more twain , but one flesh . What therefore God hath joined together (5656 ), let not man put asunder (5720 ). * They say (5719 ) unto him , Why did Moses then command (5662 ) to give (5629 ) a writing of divorcement , and to put her away (5658 )? * He saith (5719 ) unto them , Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered (5656 ) you to put away (5658 ) your wives : but from the beginning it was (5754 ) not so .
