Matthew:2:1-12
emtv@Matthew:2:1 @ Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East arrived in Jerusalem,
emtv@Matthew:2:2 @ saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East, and have come to worship Him."
emtv@Matthew:2:3 @ But when Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
emtv@Matthew:2:4 @ And having gathered together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired from them where the Christ would be born.
emtv@Matthew:2:5 @ So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
emtv@Matthew:2:6 @ 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.' "
emtv@Matthew:2:7 @ Then Herod, secretly having called the wise men, ascertained from them the time that the star appeared.
emtv@Matthew:2:8 @ And having sent them to Bethlehem, he said, "Go and carefully search for the young Child, and as soon as you find [Him], report back to me, so that I also may come and worship Him."
emtv@Matthew:2:9 @ When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.
emtv@Matthew:2:10 @ And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
emtv@Matthew:2:11 @ And having come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and falling down, they worshipped Him, and opening their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
emtv@Matthew:2:12 @ And having been divinely instructed in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew into their own country by another way.
