* On that day Sadducees came to him , those who claim to be no resurrection . And they questioned him , saying , * Teacher , Moses said , If some man dies , having no children , his brother shall marry his wife , and raise up seed to his brother . * Now there were with us seven brothers . And the first having married perished . And having no seed left his wife to his brother . * Likewise also the second , and the third , until the seventh . * And last of all , the woman also died . * In the resurrection therefore , which of the seven will she be wife ? For they all had her . * But having answered , Jesus said to them , Ye are led astray , not knowing the scriptures , nor the power of God . * For in the resurrection they neither marry , nor are given in marriage , but are as agents of God in heaven . * But concerning the resurrection of the dead , have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God , saying , * I am the God of Abraham , and the God of Isaac , and the God of Jacob ? God is not God of the dead , but of the living .
