* But when the Pharisees had heard (5660 ) that he had put the Sadducees to silence (5656 ), they were gathered together (5681 ) . * Then one of them , which was a lawyer , asked (5656 ) him a question , tempting (5723 ) him , and saying (5723 ), * Master , which is the great commandment in the law ? * Jesus said (5627 ) unto him , Thou shalt love (5692 ) the Lord thy God with all thy heart , and with all thy soul , and with all thy mind . * This is (5748 ) the first and great commandment . * And the second is like unto it (5625 ), Thou shalt love (5692 ) thy neighbour as thyself . * On these two commandments hang (5743 ) all the law and the prophets .
